I recovered in my bed, I love my bed.. I just used extra pillows, no problems getting in or out..

I had a umbilical hernia repaired during my VSG surgery as far as I'm concerned I got a twofer and don't have to go back in for another surgery. My doctor also over sews the staple line to help prevent leaking. The one reward I have so far is I haven't needed my diabetes meds since the surgery, and as a bonus I lost 11 lbs my first week.

gatorade or propel, for the headache call your dr. and see if he will allow you to take tylenol mine did

I really do hope no one does read you the riot act because all opinions and feelings should be considered and validated. I remember when I was thin and I remember being able to speak up and stand up for myself all the time because I wasn't afraid about people noticing the fat girl in the room, I think my confidence was my armor then.. It seems to me that my weight has prevented me from doing so much in my life I'm sure you will build up that confidence again and feel great about yourself and start enjoying your new life.

forgot to say I am only 6 days post op i've lost weight, but I really can't tell you if my IUD has any effect yet.

I used to get Depo shots for about 8 yrs before finding out that it was one of the reason's I was gaining weight, after I had my son and they asked which birth control I wanted, I said anything that doesn't have homones I came to find out that all hormonal birth controls have that as a side affect, you could or could not have that side affect, but after what happen to me with the Depo shot I decided not to risk it... I have an IUD now I don't remember the name of it I just know it's the one that last 10 yrs and doesn't have homones.

Stupid Question how many days or how much gas x did you take till it worked

I am going to try the gas x and see if that helps. My dr. puts you on mushy food your last day in the hospital, I personally put myself back on liquids cause I couldn't stand the feeling, but like I said it hurts with liquids too just not as much.

I'm 4 days post op and can't eat more then 3 tsp of food at a time. I can't figure out if I am full or not because since surgery I've been having severe pain right behind my breast bone some have said it was gas, but I don't know, at first it was constant now the pain is there every time I swallow even if it is just my spit. Glad your feeling better maybe day 6 is the day i'm looking for now lol...

My is on Wednesday and I am so not ready, I thought I was till a woke up today and noticed my hampers (2) were full, and I didn't go shopping yet. Well I did but the kids ate all the jello I bought and my ice pops ( my dr only requires 2 day pre diet ) so I just got back from the store cause I have to start my diet tomorrow. I have UHC and I am between 39 - 40 depends on who's scale PCP had 39 bmi on her letter, surgeon had 40 (with pre- diabetes)

Along with the Gatorade and Popsicles my Dr's list says Water, tea, juices, Jello, ices, ice pops (avoid red-colored Jello and ices and dairy) of course you should check with your dr
