    THINKING ABOUT THE SURGERY

I had the procedure done on 01/14/2011 w/ Dr. Scott Bovard from Bovard Bariatrics in Raleigh. I have BCBS (State Health Plan). Deductible $600.00 and $2700.00 copay to Rex Healthcare. Started the process on 10/25/2010 by attending a seminar w/the doctor followed by several support group meeting. Approval within 2 weeks of paperwork being submitted. Good Luck

    Anyone from NC?

I was banded 01/14/2011 at Rex Hospital by Dr. Scott Bovard with Bovard Bariactrics in Raleigh. On tomorrow I will be 14 day post op. I feeling better every day. I started the process on 10/25/2010 by attending a face to face chat with the doctor, then attended two support groups (clients of the doctor), corresponded with several members of the group personally, pre op test/psy eval on 11/28/11 (all coordinated by the medical office and at the same location), meeting w/ medicall staff at Rex on 12/28 and the doctor on 12/28, banded 01/14.

I was banded on 01/14/2011 in Raleigh, NC. My surgeon was Dr. Scott Bovard with Bovard Bariactrics. The procedure was done at Rex Healthcare Center (Blue Ridge Road-Raleigh). Outstanding surgeon and skilled staff at Rex. I will post more on Saturday.

how do you feel after surgery?

Zengirl, I was banded on the 14th. I was in a lot of pain on the 15th and 16th. The gas pain was difficult. The pain was due to not being able to expel the gas. I took gas-X strips. However, walking at a slow pace worked the best for me. Also, discharge from the incision sites. Very weak. I possible, please try to delay your return trip by a day or two. Good Luck. Also, take a hard pillow to protect your stomach from pressure and large Water proof bandaids to cover the incision sites.
  8. Why did you need to copy my user name knowing that we are both from the same area. Several people have contacted me about the confusion. So silly.

  9. Independent thinking is essential to making a sustanial change in your life...such as the biactric banding.
