  1. I'm with ya! I check in tomorrow at 5:45am! I also live about an hour away, so not looking forward to the drive... I'm excited but also nervous also! I'm glad this pre-op is over though, that was rough! I know after being banded won't be easy, but at least I'll have more variety to drink, and eventually eat!! Good Luck!!
  2. I luckily only have to do the pre-op for 6 days, but i'm having a really hard day today. Not so much being hungry, but the cravings are killing me!! All I can imagine are french fries, hamburgers, and even salads!! ARGGGHHH i'm so bored with the shakes, bars, and soup!! Any pointers?
  3. I also an on a 1 week protein shake diet. I am also able to eat 1 piece of plain grilled chicken per day. I'm on the Optifast diet which also give me a protein bar each day.
  4. Day 2 of my pre-op diet also!! Sounds like we are on the same one, I am STARVING!! I just keep saying to myself that in the end it will all be worth it! Surgery scheduled for the 18th! Only 5 more days!!
  5. I started my pre-op diet today (surgery on the 18th) 5 servings of Opti-fast a day for 6 days. I've had 1 shake so far and well let's just say my stomach wants more. I hope I can stick to this for the whole week. I really want to jump start the weight loss and get used to just a little bit of food before getting the band.
  6. Scheduled for May 18th, still waiting on insurance approval. Hopefully will hear something tomorrow! Start pre-op 800 calorie liquid diet on Thursday and hoping not to kill or harm anyone prior to surgery!!! Saying goodbye to alot of favorites for the past week, but I am so ready for this change!!
  7. Had my History & Physical with my PCP today!! Papers off to insurance, hopefully will get the approval soon! Scheduled for the 18th and don't want to have to change it, or when I start my pre-op diet. Luckily I only have to do that for 6 days prior. Getting nervous....
  8. Good Luck!! Let us know how it goes!
  9. Congratulations on getting banded!! My date is scheduled for May 18th pending insurance approval! Did you have a pre-op diet? When do you plan to go back to work? Did the doc give you anything for pain? if so was it in pill form? I have many questions, but I'll stop for now!!!
  10. That is awesome that you were approved so quickly!! They can't submit my paperwork until they get the final ok from my PCP. I have an appt with her on May 4th and I am to fax the letter right to the surgeon's office that afternoon. Hopefully I will be approved as quick, my surgery is scheduled for the 18th, and I start my pre-op diet on the 12th! Would certainly suck if I started the shakes and the approval didn't go thru!
  11. Got my date today!! May 18th is the start of my new life!! I have a choice of a liquid Optifast diet for 6 days pre-op or a regular diet of 800-1000 calorie high Protein diet for 7 days. Any suggestions which way I should go? I am allowed 1 4oz piece of grilled chicken breast a day on the Optifast. My last nutrition class is tomorrow night and I just have my pre-op meeting left with my surgeon's office. I'm excited but nervous!!!
  12. Anyone have any idea how long it take for Cigna to approve surgery? I have been thru the 6 month nutrution classes (last one next week), the cardiologist has cleared me, and the pysch consult. Only thing now is to wait for ok from insurance and then I can get a date. I'm very anxious!! I also need to give some notice at work for my time off.
  13. I had my psych eval yesterday and my EGD today! Those were the last 2 major appts I have to go thru!! Just need to see my PCP, which I can't do until I have an official date, and 1 more nutritional class. Then I just have to wait for insurance approval. My birthday is in May so this will be my Birthday and Mother's Day gift to myself!
  14. Went to the cardiologist today and he cleared me for surgery!!! Woo Hoo! 1 step closer! Now on to the psych consult, 1 more nutrition class, and the upper endoscopy. Starting to get excited, hoping the insurance approval comes quick!!
  15. I am hoping to be a May bander!! My deductible with Cigna resets in June, so we are doing everything we can to get me approved for May as soon as possible. I have my cardiologist appt next week, and the psych eval the week after. April will be my last nutrition class and weigh in. My endoscopy is scheduled for the end of this month, but may have to move to April. All of a sudden everything is coming together, and i'm starting to get nervous!
  16. I'm off to my 2nd nutrition class tonight. At times it seems like everything is going quickly, but at others it's inching along. Hoping to have my surgery at the end of May, as my deductible resets on June 1st!!
