  1. I'm 16 months post op and still hanging on to the last 20 lbs. Since its been months since the scale has moved, my surgeon suggested I go on Phentermine to drop the last 20 lbs. Does anyone have any experience with this drug? What are your thoughts and experiences on it?
  2. Hello. I'm six months post op and have been on Lexapro for four months. I'm loosing slow and getting closer to my goal by about 30lbs. Just wondering if anyone is on Lexapro post surgery and are you loosing? I hear on the net that some Lexapro patients have a hard time loosing. I must admit I crave carbs like crazy.
  3. I too had Dr. Higa do my surgery on 2/2014. Hang in there.. It gets better I promise. I too went through the sale exact thing also. My first trip to the grocery store was horrible. I never felt so weak and wanting food. I went through about a week of remorse and hating my decision. It's normal and just let your mind adjust and run the emotions. When you get onto week four and five life gets better. I'm four months out and could eat anything. Dr. Higa is an excellent surgeon and knows his stuff. Follow his plan and don't eat anything you shouldn't the first few weeks. I did start eating foods with sugar such as popcicle and gatoraid. The little sugar gave me extra energy I needed and I still lost 40lbs in two months.

    CA - Central Valley

I'm in Lodi. I had surgery Feb 10th 2014. I'm looking for a support group in our area.
  5. Absolutly I'd be included in the suit. I had the band for six years and had it removed and sleeved in February this year. I can eat anything I want with the sleeve and loosing. iys just in small amounts and my tummy isn't angry any longer. No throwing up every time I turned around. The band caused me terrible pain and anxiety in public places because I never knew if I could eat or have to run to the bathroom and barf. It would be embarrassing in front of clients. Sign me up!!! Allergen needs to get out of the band business!!
  6. You are making me feel so much better. I'm on week 5 of not loosing on the scale. I'm loosing inches so I'll take that but I just want to see the numbers go down on that darn scale. You give me hope..

    Anxiety

And yes this site is amazing. It was a fabulous tool for me for my first two months. Keep your chin up and know that you will eat and drink normally again. Just smaller amounts. There were days where I wondered WTF did I do to myself..?? But those thoughts quickly passed and are normal. Keep focus on why you did it and you will do great.

    Anxiety

Hang in there. I'm four months post op and doing much better. My first month was very rough mentally and physically. My surgeon and OBGYN have both told me that your body gets off track hormonally from this surgery from the shock and rapid weight reduction. There is light at the end of the tunnel. There is a lot to process and learn to eat properly on top of all the physical changes. Each week will get better and better. I did have the doc prescribe Ativan for me and that really helped calm me down and relax. It got me to sleep a good nights rest and heal.
  9. I'm three months post op and wondering how many calories a day should I be at? My doc and nut says just eat till satisfied and really won't give me a number. I've been stalled loosing weight for a month now.
  10. I swallowed pills on day two in the hospital and have ever since.

    Salad

I'm almost three months and I just started eating salad. No problems. I've tried ice burg and spring mix. Still a little afraid of romaine.
  12. Does eating too much and cause anxiety symptoms? My Nut's paperwork listed things like indigestion, hot flash, nausea and also listed anxiety. I've never heard of anxiety. Anyone experience this?
  13. I went to the gym for the first time since surgery and had a good work out. Then went home and ate dinner about two hours after my work out and felt like I had a hard time getting down each bite. It felt like my stomach shrunk and I threw everything up! What is this??
  14. I'm two months post op and not having trouble work foods. Just trouble telling when I'm full. I start with tiny amounts on my plate and don't feel full. Then I'll take another bite and wham it hurts and I've ended up throwing up twice in the past two days. What can happen if anything if you throw up too much? I'm worried I'm hurting my new sleeve.
  15. I'm 2 months post op and getting tired of protein shakes for breakfast. What are some ideas of what everyone is eating? I'm not sure how scrabbled eggs will go down. I hear some people have problems with them.
