  2. Congratulations!! It's the best, isn't it? I have about 5 bags of unopened chocolate chips (didn't use them for Cookies at Christmas) sitting on my shelf and they're just sitting there!! Not calling to me, not doing anything. Isn't that the best feeling?? I LOVE THIS SLEEVE!!

    Do you still get hungry?

    I'm hardly ever hungry in the sense of feeling hunger -- I usually feel weak or crabby -- I can usually go about 9 or 10 hours before I realize I need to eat -- I never think about food, not interested in it, but will eat it because I need to. I love it and I'm 5 months out.

  8. Hey all! Hope all is well. I've been having a great time getting much more active than I have in YEARS!! I've been playing about 2 hours of golf a day (well, only 6 days this past week, but still). I have come home just exhausted, but soooo happy!! This was one of the things I really really wanted to do -- to be able to play golf, tennis, whatever and not be so obese that I couldn't enjoy myself. The plus side is that I'm playing something while exercising -- I love that! Anyway, I lost about 2.4 pounds this week -- I was 216 last week and 213.6 this week. Not bad. I'm still undereating -- I just don't have much appetite and don't really feel hunger -- so I still have myself on a clock to eat. It's not a bad thing, but it probably keeps me from losing more weight. I just forget to eat. But Water is great (I love it) and of course, exercise is great Cherice Good loss this week! Keep up the great work! I was thinking about your Protein and what about cheese? I eat a lot of mozzarella (it's low fat and good protein) -- and quinoa which is a grain with lots of protein -- it tastes really good. iegal!! wow, can't believe you're soooo close! HOORAY!!! Keep us updated -- it's so exciting when one of us Sept. sleevers gets to goal!!

I'm a teacher too and I think, just from my own personal experience, that stress will make me hold onto water, etc. Plus, think about it -- we're on our feet all day, no time to really have to ourselves (except when we're grading after school and during planning periods) -- it's constant stress -- see this article Top 5 Most Stressful Jobs -- and, on top of all of that now you have more administrative tasks you're supposed to fit in to you already crammed, stressed day? Yep, I'd say it does factor into weight loss, etc.

    I'm with everyone else, do it! -- I was 3 1/2 months out at Christmas and I had a sliver of pumpkin pie and a sliver of key lime pie. Didn't do anything to me. HOWEVER, it was OVER the top sweet for me -- yuck!! I was astounded. I hated it. And I made both. Everyone else loved them -- so like Rootman, my tastebuds have changed DRASTICALLY and I can't tolerate much sugar. So be prepared to have completely different reaction to the cake. Small bites won't hurt. (Oh, and be prepared for the food cravings afterward especially if you eat low carb -- took me at least a week to get the head hunger out of my head after eating the pie). I hope you have fun celebrating this special day with your daughter!

    My 2 week vent

    Ok, you know that you're experiencing what most of us did about 2 weeks out -- I think I bawled like a baby for a solid week. That's to be expected. If there's one piece of advise I can give to someone is not to obsess about the weight (I know easier said than done -- and sometimes I should re-read that myself). But in reality, if you're doing everything your dr. said to do, getting in all your Protein, all the Water you can (because I know it's hard at this point), AND you're doing exercise, then you don't need to worry -- it will come off, BELIEVE ME!! Your body is still recovering, it's still swollen, it's probably holding onto water because it's in shock. And a lot of people stall for a week or so around the 3rd week (you may be early) -- no worries -- WE ALL STALL!! It's natural. Our bodies are saying, "Whoa!! I must be in the middle of a famine! I will not let myself lose anymore weight than necessary, if at all. I must survive!" Really, our bodies think we are in a famine and at about the 3rd month mark, it becomes convinced you are dying and starts shedding hair in an effort to save its resources. So, please don't worry. You've already lost 24 pounds (hooray!! ) -- you will get there -- trust the process, in reality, there is no physical way you will have stopped losing weight -- your stomach is too small You're not eating even 1/2 of what you used to eat. YOU WILL LOSE MORE WEIGHT! Hope that helps! Hugs, Julie

  18. I did right after surgery, and it happened most often when I accidentally slept on my stomach -- I talked to my dr. about it and was able to double up on my Nexxium for a while until it went away. You might want to ask yours the same Hope you feel better soon!

  20. Hi guys! Had a good week -- lost 3 lbs after having gained 2 -- so a net loss of 1! Cherice -- I get in all my Protein -- I like fish a lot and it tends to have the most protein (more usually than meat) -- so I eat a lot of fish. And then I eat a lot of meat. I have an advantage in that I'm living in one of the biggest meat/beef producing countries -- everything is beef here! I actually prefer it to chicken -- chicken is so dry and hard to chew for me. I also throw in a handful of nuts now and then when I'm bored with my protein selection -- oh and cheese!! I love love love cheese. I don't really worry about my fat consumption at all, so I kinda eat it all. I'm shooting for around 60 - 80 grams of protein a day. I usually make it (some days not, but most days). Meriteri -- good job on the loss -- gotta take what we get, right? I will take any loss no matter how small! Have a great week everyone!
