  1. Try a poached or fried egg on your beans, sounds weird but really good. A little added protein and healthy fat.

    Coming Back to try again...

I was banded about 8 years ago. Had gained about 30 if 50 Pounds back. Recently had a completely unrelated surgery that has caused to to be on liquid diet for 3 weeks so far. I had band completely emptied prior to the surgery and plan to use this “opportunity” to get back on track with the band when I am able to start eating again. Down ~ 15 Pounds in the 3 weeks since surgery.

    Christmas Challenge

Second week not as good as the first for me. I was banded 11/3 and lost about 8 pounds overnight it seemed. Kinda stalled since then, but on liquid diet until Thanksgiving day, then I can do mush for a week... I guess that will consist of mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner... No company and not going anywhere for Thanksgiving so I don't have to explain, refuse food... I think that will be easier for me. Let's have a good third week!!!
  4. I have been taking pills the size of advil or smaller with no trouble. I have one pill that is bigger, so I have a pill cutter I use to cut in half, then each half is about the same size as an advil. I used to throw 4 or 5 pills at a time into my mouth, but now take one at a time about a minute apart. I went back to work today, after being banded on 11/3, and felt a slight lack of energy but no abdomen pain. Maybe some gas pain in my shoulder, but not real sure - maybe too far out for gas pains still, not sure. I do think lack of energy can definitely be attributed to the sudden change in food intake... are you taking a vitamin? I found a liquid at Costco, tastes like liquid Flintstones... Hope you get to feeling better soon!

    Need Support

I think I am going to have trouble not drinking with food too, I usually do Iced Tea. How have others dealt with not having a beverage while you eat? Thanks,
  6. So question on posting... I know when I used to do Weight Watchers online, there was like a group name and someone started a new thread everyday... That is apparently not how this works, so what is the quickest way to find this thread everyday, is there a way to bookmark it or something? I am new to the site, figured out the ticker thing today... I'll get it figured out soon. Devo-tee - good luck tomorrow, you'll do great! Back to work tomorrow - Hope everyone has a great night!
  7. Hi all - banded 11/3 - and doing very well. I am planning on going back to work tomorrow. Down about 8 pounds so far, yea! I am on liquids + yogurt/puddings without any chuncks for 3 weeks, so I am already finding that challenging. I add sugar free vanilla starbucks syrup in my vanilla Protein shakes, they are wonderful. Had a little bit of a challenge yesterday, was spending the day with DH and friends and we wound up going to Carabbas... I ordered Mama's chicken Soup, and tried to eat just the broth, but it was really hard with them all eating that wonderful bread, big salads and pizza. I brought the soup home and will strain for dinner tonight. DH and I used to eat out all the time, fortunately he is very sensitive to me not being able to eat anything right now. Although I do look forward to going out and ordering great salmon! Little worried about heading back to work. I think I will feel ok, but I didn't tell anyone I was having this done. I will have to cover the bruise from the IV with makeup, and worried about lack of energy. Did you guys tell everyone? Anyone else secretive here? I joined a Christmas challenge on this website too. Hopefully another way to keep motivated! Soph

    Christmas Challenge

    Time off work?

I am planning on a week (banded 11/3). My main concern is going to be wearing a bra - I have an incision pretty high that I think will be uncomfortable. Also some walking, but otherwise a desk job, worried about energy level.
  10. Not sure the protein count, but I got egg drop soup from favorite chinese restaurant and strained it. Tastes great, I am only a few days post op though. I have almost 3 more weeks to go.... Soph
  11. Hi All - I was banded November 3, and am feeling pretty good. Have been having liquids, 2 Protein shakes a day (sounds low compared to what most of you have been instructed to do). Last night DH picked up egg drop Soup from a local restaurant, and strained it, left a thick broth, it was the best thing I have had to eat post op! I am on a liquid diet for 3 weeks post op, I am sure that will be challenging, seems like a long time, but even creamed Soups are ok as long as I strain out any chunks. FF puddings, yogurts (even fro-yo ok for this stage) so hoping I can find enough variety to keep it from getting boring. Any ideas you guys have would be great! After the 3 weeks, one week mushy food then onto soft foods. I admit at this point I think I am going to be scared to eat solid food... Keep posting, I am learning something from every one of you! Soph

    November bandsters unite!!

Deb - I was also banded on 11/3. 4 incisions, painful, but not horribly so. Have been taking an RX pain killer, but moving off those onto Tylenol. I am moving around pretty well, are you? I am supposed to head back to work Tuesday or Wednesday, I think I will be OK, but am a little nervous... Sophie
