Gall Stone!!
I was on a liquid diet in the early 90s and lost 100 lbs in like a week and a half....lol. Of course that's an exaggeration but it was very fast... A few Months maybe I had the worst pain one day and was admitted for emergency gall bladder surgery... Luckily they were able to do it laparoscopically but of course I had to get off the liquid diet and put the weight right back on It's no fun but at least you will never have to worry about it again Feel better!

Anyone Tried The Daniel Fast?
I wasnt familiar with it but in looking at the food requirements... I think you need to discuss it with your Dr. I am concerned you wont get the proper nutrition so crutial to banded and non banders alike.

Any Ideas
My Dr said anything that can be chewed to a puree form is acceptable. However you need to be careful you dont swallow something before its pureed.... so like wildrose said... use a blender. I ate alot of tuna, cottage cheese, applesauce, soup, carrots mashed and hummus. Lots of people like yogurt and beans as well. You can do navy beans in a crock pot and cook them down for a few days... lots of good protein. .

Questions About Foods To Eat/drink
Just curious.... what is the purpost of these supplements when you should be getting all your nutrition from foods?

Gum?
Bandsters should avoid gum because if you swallow it it could be an issue for the band according to my Dr. Mentos have sugar calories so I would opt for the breath strips over candy. Check with your Dr to be sure.

Why I?M Divorcing My Scale?..
My scale isnt the same as my drs. But to not have a tracking device at home wouldnt work for me... I also bought a decent scale but its still 2 lbs higher than my dr. I just use it as a rule of thumb....

First Fill
you must drink to keep up your energy...I am usually on liquids for 24 hours then mushies for 24 hours after that. 3 days seem to be alot on clears but I believe you have a larger band than I do. Just make sure when you do go to solids to chew everything to a puree form in your mouth.

Nutritionist Today
As you know facing the music head on is better in the long run..... it will make you accountable and less apt to want to go through it again next month!

To Fill Or Not To Fill....
I cannot recall how many times I was SURE I would get a fill and after a discussion with my Dr did not. SInce I saw him monthly for the first 18 months... I bet he talked me out of a fill 5-6 times. And it would turn out he was right. Only twice did I plead my case and get fills he wasnt sold on me having. Turns out I did need them but looking back I may have been able to plow thru without them. A good Dr knows the questions to ask and the conversations to have with you...and they are usually right.

How Many Calorie?
During the 2nd week post op I was only to get in about 700-800. By the time I was on mushies I was up to the 1000 I stayed at for 2 years.

Not Counting Calories
During my losing stage I counted every morsel I put in my mouth except toothpaste. I averaged 1000 calories each day. I didnt trust myself to just wing it. I did however eat 3 small meals daily.... but certainly not of "anything". 3 small meals of chocolate cake wouldnt have lost me 216 lbs and I would have had a severe Vitamin deficiency. As I am learning to maintain I have stopped tracking and eyeball it but after 2 years I am very comfortable in my choices. However I use my phone ap to look up calorie counts all the time.

Band Working Or Not?
Sounds like you are taking the first steps for success. Congrats ! For me I do not follow a specific diet. My dr and I agreed on 1000 calories per day.. And at each meal 3 oz protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 c starch/carbs

You may find you will tolerate spicy food just fine. Just wait until you are healed, eating normal foods and in the green zone and feeling completely normal...

Support Group Raised Questions
I am not hungry all the time. My band is designed to hold food to keep me satisfied for 4-5 hrs at a time. It does it's job and then some.

Animal Protein Only?
I would ask him for a specific list of what your should, eat and for how long. Then ask him how he feels about vegetables and fruit.
