  1. You know what to do... Now you need to do it but I wonder how you got off track. Were you going the dr every month?
  2. During the first 22 months of my journey I ate 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks and kept my calories at 1000. I am now maintaining but also trying to lose the last 9 lbs.... I am eating about 1300/1500 and still losing just more slowly. I lost 2 lbs in the past month but I am ok with that at this juncture. I don't exercise other than walking
  3. I am sure it happens more times then we can count. That and 3 party girls, 2 studs, 3 plumbers.... 3 old men, 4 blue hairs.....Pick one....
  4. If If it were me talking to my daughtrr wouldn't let her do anything until she was completely comfortable with her decision and the ramifications of living with either surgery.
  5. Everyone is different . I personally couldn't have chugged that early... Still cant really now. But Test it....an ounce at a time....
  6. Please adopt this way of thinking.... I honestly never anticipated failure. I followed my drs orders and stuck to the meal plan like glue. If i can do it....You CAN do this!
  7. From what my dr told me fruit skins and seeds do not digest well.... And I find it to be true. If I eat a peach or apple with the skin on it I can bring it back up an hour later...no vomiting just comes back in my throat When I eat a berry whole I just eat the inside. I doubt here were seeds in your yogurt if there were no fruit pieces
  8. I like to keep it simple so I count calories .... which at eating 1000 a day means I don't need to worry about fat grams.
  9. Congrats on getting is far. In my opinion it's the hardest time... You will do just great on your journey
  10. My dr didn't have any issue with it..luckily I stopped the day before... But check with your dr.
  11. I eat berries... I just Try not to eat the seeds
  12. Check with your dr but mine would say You shouldn't be eating more than 3oz of Protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 carbs at each meal. If you can eat 3 c of food you need a fill. I cannot answer your question because I never ate that amount of food thus far since being banded ... Even before restriction.
  13. Congrats on your success. Get rid of those clothes.... You will never need them again. . I kept on pair of shorts in a bag in the back of the closet.... They fit my 77" hips 2 years ago. I have looked at them twice. When I put something on and it's too big... It goes in the goodwill bag. Keep up the good work
  14. I know you are hurting but here is the way you need to look at it.... At least you found out now what kind of a person he is. Anyone who dumps someone at a crossroads is very insensitive and you are better off without him. Call on a family member to drive you home and maybe be on call that first week... Make sure you keep busy before surgery and get everything you will need for the first few weeks. Please do not let this hiccup deter you from getting the surgery. Now more than ever you need to do this for you.
  15. I would check with your dr to see if you should up your calories a bit. You will lose weight at what you are doing but it may be that your body is burning too many to be productive.
  16. Wow.. Thanks Sandy. I was banded 2 years ago today actually... And I have literally lived becoming one with my band...and the one thing that kept me going was the continued loss...and the will power to finally live the life as a slim person. I am finally there.
  17. I was 250 lbs at 40 years old. At 50 I was 377. I am 5'9...just like you. I found the band and I feel it bought me at least 30 more years on this earth. With out it I really believe I wouldn't have made to 60. And I was a healthy fat girl... But how much strain can the heart take? You have some great advice on these posts... Best wishes making a decision which will work for you. Do the lap band or don't.... Just DO something.
  18. I lost 100 lbs several times before I was banded... And gained every bit of it back...thus the band!! I was successful with Jenny Craig, weight watchers, Adkins and some liquid diet back in the 90s where I dropped 100 in about a minute and put it back on the second I started eating. I learned nothing on any of those programs... Or maybe better put... I learned if I didn't continue to eat what was on the diet I would gain it back. Not anymore.
  19. Lucky you! I had 2 weeks of lovely liquids shakes. Be happy.
  20. Hmmm...never heard that but it sounds like a normal function.... Maybe check with the dr at your post op visit just be sure everything is fine which I bet it will be...
  21. 40 lbs is a good loss but most doctors will let you get to a 2 lbs loss a week before they. Get stingy with fills. Mine is tight with filling... Often I had to beg for them and several times I was denied because I had lost 8-10 lbs that month. Why not go into the office and have a good conversation with the dr... Tell him you got the band to have a tool and you believe with a fill it will be more effective. Not going isn't good.... That's how people get off track so try it one more time and be Prepared with every thing you are doing... So he knows you are doing your part like tracking food, portions, calories etc. Good luck
  22. JEANS!!! I wanted to wear jeans .... And today .... 2 years post op and I have on a pair of size 8 Lucky Brand pair of jeans compliments of my new fav consignment store...and I am really loving it.

So I went to a Christmas party last night.. at the home of friends we see regularly so saw lots of people who have seen me recently but more that havent seen me since this party last year. While its fun to hear and oh so flattering... the accolaids were almost embarrassing.... I was like.... isnt there something else to talk about besides my weight loss? But then this morning I did my customary morning ritual on the scale and I weighed in at 159!!! I do not EVER remember in my life being in the 150s... I am in shock and no one is awake yet in my house so I had to rush on to tell you.... Holy #%#%... who would woulda thunk it? Maybe 150 isnt a pipe dream.... Happy Sunday!
