I was a chubby kid. I heard a boy call me a fat @ss when I was about 14 and that was the beginning of my Atkins dieting.
That was in the late 1960's before the Atkins diet was so popular.

I kept my weight off all through High School, being scared to death to eat carbs. I managed to keep it all off until
I got pregnant with my first child. I even managed to lose all but 10 lbs of my pregnany weight, eating the Atkins way again.

When my kids were 3 and 6 years old, I lost my husband to an accident and that's when the weight gain really started
getting out of control. I had 2 little kids, and staying home eating junk food was my way of life. I remember telling
people that chocolate was the best cure for depression.

Finally, when my daughter was 25 years old, she decided to get gastric bypass surgery. I was very much against it.
I just didn't think rerouting your intestines was a good idea. I wanted to support her though, so I went to all of her
support group meetings. It was there I heard about the lap band.

I was thrilled with the band at first. I lost all my weight and I was really happy. Then, I started throwing up in my sleep.
I had an endoscopy done and it showed my esophagus was dilated and my surgeon took out all my fill. I immediately gained back 15 lbs and I was freaking out. That was when I heard about the sleeve, and decided tot have the revision surgery.

Having the band to sleeve revision was the smartest thing I have ever done. I really love my sleeve!
