Hello everyone.... What a ruff week it has been. What started with a bug... Ended Thursday with my BEST friend leaving me. Tina (my band)... is gone. After 8 years 4 months and 13 days.... It was a great journey for sure. The slip was pretty bad.... i was less than 24 hours from a perforated stomach. But i feel much better. The pain i was in was the most unbearable pain i have ever felt..... and everyone who knows me here, know how much of a high tolerance i have for pain. So, it's up to me now.... i must continue on my journey with only the knowledge i have gained over the years and pray that i can do it alone. But, even though i don't have my band anymore... i will still come here, because you all are my friends and i treasure your support. xoxo Chris

I am feeling excited. I got a phone call from my new surgeon, (long story short my insurance company suggested that I find another surgeon) my first appointment is next Monday. Hurray for me. I am leaning toward the sleeve but I will listen to the surgeon and see what he has to say. I have read and researched so many different things over the last nine years getting to this point that I am just ready for something to happen.

90-Day follow-up today. I have lost 43% of my excess weight. BP and Blood Sugar are in the normal range. Pre-surgery I took 1000mg of Metformin, 5mg of Glipizide, and 20mg of Lisinopril each day. Now I take 500mg of Metformin only, and expect to eliminate that soon. I am still early in the process, but I have no regrets. It feels good to be healthy. My best advice to people considering weight-loss surgery...go into it knowing that signigicant lifestyle changes will be required in order to be successful. If you think that at some point you will be able to go back to doing the things that caused you to be overweight to begin with, DON'T HAVE THE SURGERY! Your thinking must be "right" to begin with.

Day 6 post op Gastric Plication ...was a great day today. No pain of any sort, more energy. Managed 2 walks around the block with husband and the dog, 2 hours lying in the beautiful Aussie sunshine, a few household chores, some light gardening, a nap and drank all the designated fluids...full seven hundred calories. Yay. Wanted to post to encourage others and also if I hit a bad day I can look back and remind myself it does get better. Onwards and upwards. Have a good day everyone.
