    Conflicting Body Images?

For clarity, the 65 pounds lost is from when I started working with the bariatric program. I actually lost about 50 of that pre-op. I'm only 1 month post op at this time and lost 16 pounds in month one. I'll definitely keep everyone updated. I suspect as I get closer to goal both of these images will still be there, but hopefully the "fat me" one will fade over time!

    Holiday, Family, and Recovery

For what it is worth, I thought I would share my experience. I had my sleeve Aug. 4. The next week I was walking around the neighborhood, and my family took me on short trips here and there (mall, Costco, etc.). The following week (10 day mark) I was taking short trips on my own, and started working from home. The next week, at the nineteen-day mark, I went back to work at the office. The biggest challenge for me was fatigue, followed by mild pain and discomfort, particularly on bumpy roads. I and others recognize that everyone recovers differently, but hopefully this helps you. The biggest piece of advice I could offer, is to listen attentively to your body. When you are tired, it is good to rest. Rest early and often enough so you don't get worn out.

Are you feeling tired all the time?

I use a Vitamin B12 patch and collagen patch each day and I am going to try the sleep patches next. I just need to get on a schedule. I'm glad you are finding something that works for you.

    over preparing??

I have bought a RIDICULOUS amount of food containers to help with food prep and storage - that is, when I get to that stage! 😂 I found some really cute 80ml brown glass jars on amazon which I already love and will hopefully make my tuna puree feel much more like a trendy shoreditch hipster cafe experience. If I have to only eat a couple mouthfuls of fishy paste for a meal, I want to do it in STYLE!

    John’s Story - 3.5 years out

Thank you for this OP! I used to play competitive sport and stopping that but continuing to eat as I had before definitely contributed to my weight gain, as did so many lifestyle changes. So glad to hear your story and I only hope I can get there some day too. 💪

Congrats on your success and thanks for sharing! Though I never played any sports at your level, I was very active when younger until sidelined by a serious injury. Continuing to eat like I needed to when i was burning through 5-6k calories a day had a pretty detrimental impact on my health. Glad you finally found something that worked for you!
