    Always cold!!!!

I wanted to add, I wound up asking for an electric blanket last year for Christmas. I got two, and it's the best. I keep one in my room, and one in the basement. I don't need them all the time, but when I am REALLY cold and nothing else is helping, the electric blanket is awesome.

    Always cold!!!!

I am sat on the sofa in my sock boots and loads of layers. I have a backup blanket. As soon as I stop moving, I need to layer up. Like everyone else I was so hot all the time, its still a weird feeling to be so cold Due to world problems our heating bills have quadrupled in the UK and its going to be an expensive winter even with help from the government. We haven't had a bitter freezing winter since forever, so fingers crossed for this year

    Nerves

I'm a single mom of a 5 year old and that was my biggest concern, and terrified she would be placed with her bio dad that she doesn't know, she scared of men she doesn't know, so the thought of her being forced into a house where she doesn't know anyone and her being terrified of the person who's supposed to be her primary parent .... I cried several times just thinking about it.... but I did what I needed to, to help things, I went to local child advocate and asked her if I could pay to retain her just incase, so that my child had an impartial person speaking for her that the judge couldn't ignore.... she refused to take any payment, but took my information and surgery date, as well as my parents information.... she had me call her with in 3 days of my surgery, she said I'd I dudnt call she would file with children's services to be her legal representative.... so that she could legally call my parents as well as start the process to get them full sole custody.... it actually made me feel better I know that was long but my only point is do anything you think will help your peace of mind even of it seems like to much, it can really help your mindset going in and coming out. I'm very glad I did it ..... but I really want a salad lol Sent from my SM-G996U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Switch Surgery Oct17

Yea the reality is you’re probably going to be fine but maybe not if you slip again. Part of what’s good about the pre op is that you get to prove it to yourself that you can do it post op cause like liveaboard15 said, you can seriously I just yourself from one little slip post op.

Congrats on the weight loss! You have done amazing! I am pre op and just starting to see skin issues due to pre op weight loss, so no in your boat yet. I have used bike shorts or compression shorts for years to help with my tummy during exercises. I have bought through Amazon and woman within. Also going to get some compression sleeves (Amazon has them for about $10) because I have massive arm fat that’s starting to dangle and will probably get in the way soon. There are also some zip front full bras made for exercise that look like it may tame the side breast skin and fat that I have starting to be floppy. Don’t have any specific brands but I try to look through reviews on Amazon before buying.

Back to work after one week??

I don't think I could have done it. I'm a little over 2 weeks out and I went back to work part time the last 2 days. I found it very taxing. It partly how tired I feel, but maybe even more so that I'm mentally drained. I work from home, but have a mentally challenging job, so I have to have a clear head. Now that I'm actually starting real food, it's getting better every day. The other challenge early on was just how much of my energy and thought went in to keeping up with my liquid and protein intake. I'm afraid that if I was trying to work as well, I likely would have ended up dehydrated or worse.

Are you feeling tired all the time?

Yes, it’s pretty normal. Your healing & recovering from a pretty major surgery & feeling tired is yiur body telling you to rest to allow it to heal. Plus you’ve made considerable changes to your diet which takes a bit of getting used to as well. If you feel tired, rest. Don’t push yourself to do more. It does get better though you may still experience periods of tiredness at times. Try an electrolyte drink (I used hydralyte) to give you a little boost of energy on days when you have a few chores to do. Take some with you when you’re out or stop at a cafe and rest over a cup of tea. I did this often.

5 months post op hair loss

It happens to almost everyone. Just have to ride it out until your natural hair loss cycle returns to it’s usual rate. The accelerated rate of loss is a stress response to all the changes you’re putting your body under. The hair you’re losing is dead & would have fallen out anyway - it’s just happening faster. Your new hair is still growing just at it’s usual rate. Some will swear by supplements like biotin but their hair loss slows in about the same 3 or 4 months time frame as those who don’t take or do anything. Save your money I say. Keep meeting your goals & relax - don’t add more stress. Many of us with long hair cut our hair shorter so the new growth didn’t have as much to grow to catch to the length of the remaining hair.
