    Full liquids - Veggie Soup

In full liquid phase, I boiled up a chicken carcass for stock, added green cabbage, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, cooked to very soft then used immersion blender. It blended well. Watered it down if it was a bit thick. It was delicious! Once I was on purée stage I added the chicken to it and blended that in the blender. cay

I struggle with the same thing right now. One thing I figured out is that I have to start taking MUCH smaller bites first. For now, that's all I'm working on. Once smaller bites become a habit, I'll work on more thorough chewing.

    Days off work after surgery

I had surgery on a Tuesday and was back to work (desk job from home) on Monday -so almost a week. Pain was fine but I was SO TIRED. I had to take breaks to rest frequently, and took a nap every single day after work for at least the first week back. I would say, if you have a good bit of flexibility and can rest when needed, you'll be fine. If not, a full 2 weeks might be helpful.

If you weigh/measure the food before you start then weigh/measure it when you finish you can figure out how much you ate. You may not be eating enough if you are really eating 2/3 bites and that's it. If you are not eating your body will go into starvation mode and store everything rather than burning it. Same with the protein, you need to hit that goal so you can nourish your body and it doesn't starve. Maybe try prepping a few days of meals at a time so you don't have to keep measuring your foods, you will just know what it is and can reuse the data. It may make it less cumbersome for you that way? It really is amazing how people "think" they are eating in comparison to how they are actually eating. Tracking is key here, even just until you get the hang of it. Once I decided to have WLS I had my first dietician apt and at that moment started tracking without any change. I was disgusted to see how many calories and fat I was eating in a day. Wondering why I am so fat when I don't really eat that much. I was also one of those "eat 3000 calories once a day" type of people rather than 3 balanced meals. All of these things effect weight loss and/or gain. But when it really comes down to it, it is the calorie deficit that forces weight loss.

    Full liquids - Veggie Soup

I've been having tomato soup since the first day home (water mixed in for week 1, and milk added in week 2). Then I and added V8 Juice in week 3 and have had no issues. I'd say go for it, but if it bothers your stomach, step back from it and try again in a few weeks.

    Marriage changes post op

I was exactly the same. Didn't want to go out, turned down invitations and didn't want to go to events with my partner because I was embarrassed and didn't want people to think "why is he with that fat woman?" (my partner is skinny and always has been). I promise you that all that changes as the weight comes off! I'm now keen to go out, be seen out with him, and I have so much energy I've taken on a second job that's physical that I would never have wanted to do when I was big. It all just gets better and better, week by week.

    Eggs

I don't think I ate eggs quite that quickly, but plans vary. Make sure it's OK with your clinic that said, just know that a lot of people have trouble with eggs the first few months after surgery (I didn't, but I know many of us do)

Congratulations on your loss. I haven’t yet shopped from the bariatric pal store. I do buy low calorie snacks from the grocery store that are empty calories though and have them on occasion. It’s obviously better if you can find ones you like with protein added so it actually fills you up. Keep up the good work.
