I appreciate your post and about sex after surgery, which helps me as I am almost two months out from my surgery. So having to wait another 30 days will be worth the wait. I have a great spouse as he says he wants me to bee healthy and wants my body to heal properly. Oh, by the way your post was not inappropriate at all and I can say I have already started better flexibility in her body as i was able to bend and reach diffrent items unlike before.

    Considering Lb

Hi Libra! I wanted to reply because I am much like you in that I don't have diabetes, or any other serious health conditions other than slightly elevated cholesterol. I have family members with more serious problems that I'm certainly at risk for, but luckily, haven't reached that point. I had surgery on Friday, June 8 and started with a BMI of 35, so similar to you. I had tried everything in the past as well, the list was REALLY long of all the diets, pills, liquid diets, shots, exercise programs etc. I have tried. Usually, I would be successful, but the weight always came back (plus more.) I was at the end of my rope, so frustrated that I couldn't even bring myself to try Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers or anything one more time...I was so tired of losing and gaining. That's why I went with lap band. It is going to be a tool to help me keep the weight off for the rest of my life. Lifestyle changes will be required of me with the band. There won't be an option of going back to my old ways after the weight comes off, and I love that. No more yo-yo'ing up and down the same 50 pounds. You are smart to seek your physician's advice. I did the same, and while it wasn't my only option and I could have (yet again) tried another "program," I knew in my heart I couldn't do it. This was the answer for me and I am SO happy I have done this! Best of luck to you - please keep us informed. D

    Surgery Was Today, 6/8!

Day 3 post-op - I woke up feeling so much better this morning. Got all the bodily functions working again (ahem, if you know what I mean) and what a huge difference that made in how I feel - (oversharing? Sorry!) Learning to sip slowly. Haven't been hungry once, but am making sure to get my protein in each day to assist with the healing process. Hey Bikiniby30 - I'd be happy to be your band guide! You only have a couple weeks to go - let me know how I can help! You're going to do wonderfully. Have a beautiful day everyone! Hugs -

Getting Sleeved With Low Bmi...any Risks?

I have a similar BMI and I am being sleeved in Mexico on Thursday. I have tried every diet known to man, I work out like a maniac and still cannot get to a comfortable weight. The only time I did was when I ate very little on diet pills. That was not maintainable, I feel that with the sleeve I will be able to get to and maintain a more comfortable weight.

Ten Mistakes That Weight Loss Post-Ops Make

Thank you for posting this. Regarding Mistake #3, I never understood the why behind not drinking with meals. This makes sense.

    Surgery Was Today, 6/8!

Well, the day after surgery isn't too bad! I have really only discomfort which feels like I did way too many ab crunches, and no nausea at all. Just a tiny bit of gas build up but seems like it's subsiding quickly. I've been watering flowers, doing dishes, doing laundry and have been pretty active which I think helps with the gas. I SO appreciate all of you commenting! I will give you any info you'd like, just ask, and over the next few days I'll keep commenting and keeping you informed. Have a great day everyone!

Keep up the good work. 4lbs is awesome. Im learing to take it slow. Im able to eat a lot No veggies though b/c of the gas. I was banded on 4/20 and cant wait for a fill. I find myself able to eat alot more then I expected. Everyone is telling me that will change after my first fill. And like Judy said I need to get rid of that fat girl inside of me. My head was and still is stronger then my stomach. Im Italian and was brought up with eat everything and a Beautiful Grandma who said and still does (shes 90) here have more. At time I crave things and so want them but then think of the dissapointment I will feel. Good luck
