So here I am frustrated with the fact that I have only lost 18 lbs since surgery, I know its good but I didn't lose any weight this week. I stayed the same as last week.

Then I am about to start foods, and how do I not fail myself now? How do i restrain from eating foods that I shouldn't? Or even worse how do I keep from over eating, I have no restriction. ARRGGH

I try to find solace in these boards, but then you have these people on here whining and bitching that there MD didn't tell them about Bandster Hell, really your going to cry about that? You obviously didn't read enough into this surgery to know that the first few weeks diets are horrible to deal with, but hey suck it up buttercup. This is reality knocking on your door ready to kick your ass for being a whinebaby. Your surgeon isn't giong to diet for you, he's certainly not going to excercise for you, and he's not giong to be there for you morning noon and night. Be an adult and take responsibility for yourself and your actions.

I have to agree with you....its up to us to take care of business...whining about it probably what got us here in the first place. I'm scheduled to have my surgery May 13th and have already started an 800 cal a day diet. Two shakes for breakfast and lunch and 300 cal for dinner. Is it easy, NO, but you know what no one said life would be easy. It's what you make of it and I Plan on making it work!

Wow, you’re not cutting anyone any slack are you? I can understand how you may find someone else’s “whining” frustrating, but they are entitled to self expression. Reading about someone’s struggles helps those contemplating surgery make more informed decisions. There is no way my doctor could have prepared me for some of the tings I have experienced since being banded. Of course they tell you what to expect, but words mean nothing. When we are hearing that (well when I heard it) – I thought, “I can handle that” or “I won’t make that mistake.” You don’t know until you’re in it and then you have to deal with it one way or another… venting here helps some people to cope. In the end we all want success we just don’t all travel the same path to get there.

Before I was banded, the whining on here sometimes got on my nerves a bit.... but then since I've been banded (10 days postop)... I've done my share of whining! Not on here.... mostly to myself. This is a total life changing thing. Those of us that have used food in fun, sadness, recreation, boredom, heck, food was pretty much involved in all I've ever done.... it's a big BIG wakeup call when you can no longer have it that way. My "crutch" has been kicked out from under me and it is HARD! I'm still not quiet at the point that I'm "Happy" I did this... but I'll get there. Changing a bad habit is hard.... I think it would be easier if I could go "cold turkey"...but we gotta have food, calories, protein to live and be healthy. So it's hard having to change the way you look at your addiction while still having to consume it. Is it worth it? It will be. Am I worth it? YES! Will I get there? A baby step at a time. We will have success as long as we keep moving forward. One pound at a time...

I am not saying you can't vent here or don't vent here... but this is MY blog and I can write what I want, can't I? I didn't voice my opinoins on these peoples threads I voiced them in my own blog, where they'd have to go searching for in order to find them. Your either strong enough to work the band or your not, but blaming everyone under the sun rather than yourself is not going to help you achieve your weight loss goals. You can't be like: I eat because my mom didn't love me enough, I eat because my dad didn't love my mom enough, I didn't lose weight because my surgeon didn't tell me enough, I gained weight because my surgeon didn't do his job and so I had to go and eat a bacon double cheese burger large fries and a double chocolate piece of cake. It all boils down to accountability, you either have it or your don't. I didn't lose any weight in a week, you wanna know why? Yeah me too, but all I can figure is I didn't work out enough. Not my surgeon's fault, not my parent's fault, not even the strangers down the streets fault. MY OWN FAULT.

And this is my blog, so I can say as I wish. I am polite and friendly on the boards, but I can feel as I want and write what I want in my blog.
