2 weeks post op

Hello Bansters,

it has been 17 days since being banded and I feel as though I'm not losing the weight fast enough. My doctor will not do a fill until 8/11 d/t some swelling i still have in my abdomen. Can someone give me some encouragement on how and what to eat? I am so hungry all the time and constantly, constantly think about food. I go back to work tomorrow and really not feeling that because I wanted to be a tad bit smaller than what I am. My pre op weight was 253 and now I am 237. I guess that's pretty good, but my appetite is there and full blown.

hi - having some of the same issues with hunger - 21/2 weeks after surgery - just trying to remember lap band is a tool - eat slowly, chew well, and make good choices until your fill - I think most people have a hard time at this point! good luck! - Mer

Hi,

I am also having issues with hunger. I am going for my two weeks next Tuesday and are really scared that he will not do an adjustment because it is too soon. I started soft foods yesterday and had no problems. I would have thought that I will feel the fullness or not be able to eat much. While I ate much less than normal, I just don't know if I got that full feeling or not. That is scary to me. When I woke up this morning, I had actually gained 1/2 a pound. I know that it is because I started soft foods yesterday, but it is still depressing.

Hi - know just how you feel -the same thing happened when I switched to soft foods as well - I had my post op today and the Dr, did a fill - I'm 17 days out also - he said not feeling full until after a couple of fills is normal as is the slight weight gain - hang in there - let me know how you are doing! - M
