Newbie...and soooo hungry!

Hello everyone,

I'm new to blogging here, but have been reading for several months. This site is wonderful. I was sleeved on July 8th. I had a pretty uneventful operation.....I felt very good when I woke up, never did feel sore or sick. I'm very grateful but my worry is......did the Dr not take out enough of my stomach? I know that sounds silly. When I awoke from the operation, I was hungry....growling in my stomach hungry. I've been on the pre-op diet of protein shakes 2 weeks prior, so I know that empty in the belly feeling. I'm just about 1 month out from surgery and have lost about 30 lbs. But more often than not I'm just so hungry. I've been faithful to my diet, but at times I just want to eat anything that I see. I can down a whole cup of yogurt or a protein shake...I feel slightly full. I have read that so many people take a sip/bite of something and they can't or don't want anymore. I was so hoping that the cravings would go away. Why am I not full...have I stretched my stomach already? I haven't eaten any solids yet and won't for another 2 months....I'm determined to keep on track...but I'm just so afraid that since I feel so hungry all the time that something is wrong. Is anyone else going thru this? Thank you.

Hey, sweetheart, calm down! I know it's hard and you are doubting a lot of things but the hunger..the hunger is only in your head. It will pass. I'm a new sleevee as well, I'm just over 6 weeks out of my surgery and until 1-2 weeks ago I has the same questions you had. Why am I hungry? Did the doctor not cut 85% of my stomach and so on!

You'll see, this psychological hunger will pass soon, wait and see and don't despair!

As for feeling slightly full..that's normal when you're downing liquids or creamy liquids or shakes etc.. Our new sleeved tummy will take in a lot of liquids , don't worry, its normal! Of course your tummy is not stretched out! Don't be silly!

And for the sleeve itself ...is not an exact science , its impossible for the doctor to cut exactly 85% of the stomach but its pretty much around that size!

I really hope you'll feel better soon and stop worrying! I did worry too and at 3 weeks I already hit the first plateau when I started solids but the weight started melting again after a week. I'm down 40 pounds in 6 weeks and my starting weight was 280. So cheer up, everything will be perfect! I wish you all the best xx

Thank you for your reassuring response. I know the sleeve is just a tool, but I was/am so hoping alot of my food cravings will disappear. I'm a sweet tooth maniac and hoping that this is the in past. Again thank you....it really helps to know that I'm not alone..

Also, don't have acid reflux....I had that big time before the surgery.....so far it hasn't returned!!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
    • Congratulations! What a great journey! Thank you so much for sharing. You are inspiring!

Perish Regeln der Spielautomaten sind sehr einfach, und der niedrige Mindesteinsatz macht sie auch fur decease armsten Spieler zuganglich.
