Emotional roller coaster

MrsGina

Making my poor husband crazy, I hurt, I keep crying, and I'm wondering if I did the right thing. Back on clear liquids and ice chips. Maybe I'm just too old to be messing with my body like this. I'm sorry friends, I'm just being a big baby. And I have a jinormous headache.

Gina, don't worry it WILL get better! I'm 55 and had my sleeve on Nov 6, 2012, and am 3 months out now. I had a rough time in the beginning too. I had two hernias fixed at the same time, and I have Celiac, so can't eat any gluten. I thought in the first few weeks, did I make a mistake, because I felt like crap! All I can tell you is hang in there it will get a little better each day! I have lost a total of 89 pounds now counting my 6 month before diet I lost 50 pounds, and counting 39 pounds post sleeve! I can't wait until this summer to be able to do so many more things than I use to do! Keep on, keeping on! :)

hi gina i am 58 sleeved nov. 2012, i had to back up and go on clears 3x, and compared to alot of women on this site. i am a slow looser. crying is relative, are you a crier? are you in pain? its just alittle salt water. my gram always said,"the more you cry the less you pee". find some little thing you can do, get some rest, treat your headache, hold your husbands hand and tell him a joke. and tonight when you say your prayers, say a prayer to the Holy Spirit for courage to get through this....gee i think i will go and take some of my own advice....be good to yourself, we care

Hi Gina, I was blessed with my best friend who lives in another county - 21 miles one way coming daily the first week to check up on me and another good friend who did additional shopping of juices, popsicles, Dasani water and sports drink - I thought I had stocked up well but missed the mark. another friend made homemade veggie clear broth - 5/qts. I was in the hospital for 4 day - was suppose to be 3 days but they had to do 2 blood transfusions. I do not remember being emotional but extremely tired for 3 weeks. I did extensive bed rest and 3 /10 minutes walks in the backyard daily unitl the 4th week. I am not sure of those "jinormous headaches" - could be stress, nutritional deprivation, hormones or shock. Whatever it is be on continual contact daily or twice a day with your doctors - yes ALL of them. Its their job and you are their top priority. Also obtain psychological & psychiatric couseling your husband is your support but not a professional counselor. Crying is a favorite for me because of the release of emotional toxins. Prayer, deep breathing and meditation (I like OT Proverbs - I am a wisdom junkie). Comedy movies - ancient, old & new - laughter is a healing component too. BE ENCOURAGE & BE WELL.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
