Post Surgery Gas

Hey everyone!

 

I'm 4 days post op my Gastric Sleeve. I have a question for those who have had the surgery. I know some folks deal with having gas in their stomachs afterwards. But when you swallow liquids, has anyone had to belch after every single sip of liquid? I have been having this rolling gas and bloated feeling since I/ came home from the hospital, and at first it would not even pass (just aggravate me). So did anyone else have the belching effects? And did it eventually go away over time? Thanks for any and all replies!

    Hi sugarbear. I had my surgery April 24,2012. I woke up with the worst gas pains ever. I came home the 25th and as i moved the gas passed. I have come to realize on the 26th that the gas pains included hunger pains. By the 26th the gas only came when i was hungry. Friday the 27th it got way better. I still belch but not as much. The hunger pains are the killers. But the bloating gass will go away maybe the 2nd or 3rd after surgery. I was making music when i swallowed liquids it was so loud.

    The first week or so will be gassy. It's completely normal. Have you been walking? That helps get some of that gas out.

    Thanks for your comments. It may be embarrassing for some folks to discuss, but I knew I wasn't the only one that had to experience it. Much, much better now.
