Had the sleeve on Feb. 27, 2012 the surgery went well,(with the exception of the anasteisa). I, ve lost 20 lbs and am learning when to eat and how much. Very little nausia thank goodness. That being said I have had some really crazy mood swings, It's all in my head but I feel like I am missing out on things. I don't enjoy eating it's like a chore now what can I eat how much can I eat. Not to mention who is watching me eat. Has anyone else felt this way?

You may not get too many responses, since you wrote this to your blog rather than to a forum. That being said, atleast someone reads blogs :-) I was sleeved on Feb. 13 and yeah, they can keep that dang morphine - I couldn't even keep water down, thought something horrible had happened to my stomach. But as soon as I stopped the pain meds I was fine and haven't thrown up since. sheesh ! About 2 weeks out I turned into an emotional mess - mostly RAGE at everything and everyone. Thank God my family loves me a lot or they would have booted me out of the house! I still have my moments, but I'm much better now. The bariatric center psychologist told me that if got intolerable I should think about taking an antidepressant or mood stabilizer.

As for eating, I was really resenting my family being able to eat whatever in copious amounts but that too is better now that I can eat anything too, just a lot less than they do. We all went out to dinner last night for the first time since my VSG - I ordered a dinner and shared it with my 8 year old grand son and ate until I was full. No weird looks from the waiter or other guests and no worrying about wasting food.

I'd say be kind to yourself. Find something you really enjoy eating and by golly, enjoy eating it!

Hi

I know what you mean. With Easter this past weekend it was hard to sit and watch all the food. I had my sleeve on March 26th, I too feel the same way in some way feel like all I think about is food. When I am going to eat what I can eat, and how much. I get fearful at times this is not working. It is nice you posted this helps to know someone else feels the same.Good Luck
