6 days post band replacement surgery

I woke up this morning and I feel OH so much better than I have the last few days. I was starting to worry that I'd never feel ok again.

This surgery was harder than the initial surgery. It hurt more. It took more out of me. Mind you, I *am* almost 5 years older than I was then. Maybe that's it, maybe it's just coz I'm an old chook now lol.

I'm still on a liquid diet - full liquids, with the thickest thing I am having being yoghurt, and I'm doing it easily. I'm rarely hungry and this reminds me so much of when I was in my green zone, when I nearly never felt hungry. I have great hopes of getting there again now I have a new band in.

I've also lost almost 5lbs since surgery. I'm not trying to take that loss too seriously but, if I'm honest, I'm ridiculously happy because I've been so careful with my intake and exercise the last few months and not lost a measly lb without the band. This is why I went back to get a new band, because it works for me.

Next stop: the green zone. I have my first fill in a couple of weeks, and then hopefully it won't be too long until I'm back there again, and I can go back to happily living my life with my band like I did for the 3 years before the leak. :)

Fingers crossed.

I am happy to hear you're feeling better. Each time you have surgery it is like a shock to your body. I have had about 12 surgeries so far. But I heal well which helps. Relax and let others wait on you and enjoy the rest.

Lapbandster, I had a persistent leak that could't be resolved with a port replacement (i.e. the leak was likely in the band itself), so they had to replace the whole kit and kaboodle.

I can't believe how amazing you look! I am also 5'4" and staring weight was 215. I was banded on May 6th, 2013. I had a serious complication called Ileus. it is gas caught in the intestines and you feel like a balloon inside that is going to burst! So I was admitted the very next day (May 7th) and had A NG tube inserted thru my nose down into my stomach for 2 days! Not fun. I am home now and do not feel well and have had regret over doing this to myself. Not to mention all the pain my family and friends are going through watching me suffer. So my question is, does it get better? does the nausea go away? Does the bloat and gas go away? I am actually eating normal solid foods like, cream of wheat, cottage cheese, and soups. Could this be why I am so bloated? The dr ordered a normal diet for me in the hospital when the tube came out and they brought up pancakes, sausage and oatmeal. Of which I could not eat any of it! I just attempted to go out to dinner with my daughter and I ordered French onion soup and just sipped on the broth, now I feel like I am so full that I am going to explode! Any help will be appreciated. I am from Davie, Florida along way from you!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      Einarmige Banditen
