In need of some help

I was banded 11-8-12 got my first fill 12-19-12 have had no problems, have pb a couple of times ( learning process). This morning tried to eat my usual scrambled egg with cheese and a piece of turkey bacon. I usually start my day with a watered down diet coke ( my dr is ok with this and am not a coffee drinker ) had some hot tea today instead. I have pb'd 3 times in a 2 hour period trying to get my breakfast down. I only have 2cc in a 10cc band and this is the first time I have had this much trouble. I am eating (trying) slow, tiny bites, chewing my food well and it still comes back up. What am I doing wrong and terrified my band will slip. Should I try liquids the rest of the day or what?? Any advice would be appriciated, thanks

I am starving, has been over an hour since last pb, I am trying to sip on a protien shake and can tell there is swelling/irratation in my lower throat/chest area. I get another fill on 1-9-13 and wondering if this is part of what is called "bandster hell"

Eggs are not always a good option once you get a fill. I eat mine with ketchup which may not be appealing to others but its the only way I can get them down. Maybe some greek yogurt or sometimes in the morning people are too tight and need to drink protein shakes. You may still have a lot of swelling from the fill. Try some liquids for a few days and protein shakes. Freeze some gatorade to keep your electrolytes in balance. In the morning your band is always tighter. Drink warm fluids to help relax it. It just takes time with some people after a fill because some of us like me have sensitive stomachs. I have swelling for up to three weeks after a fill. I would wait on another fill though to see how this one goes. You may need to take it slow with fills.

Thanks, drank the protein shake then later a few crackers and had no problems though I can still tell I have swelling. My fill was 2 weeks ago, is it normal to take this long to notice it

Yes, my band is definitely tighter in the morning...and sometimes I have to be out of bed and active for an hour before I can contemplate breakfast. Sipping a hot/warm drink does seem to help me.

This is a learning curve, and I've discovered that essentially my band has a mind of it's own. Some days I can tolerate cool water in the morning, other days I can't. A food well tolerated for months will suddenly create issues for me and goes off my list of tolerated foods.

Be careful with dry foods such as crackers...they are notorious for causing stuck episodes. After any event, such as a stuck episode or fill, it is best to follow your medical team's instructions...my surgeon advises me to stay on liquids for 2 days, and only soft foods for an additional day.

Today was a much better day. No more stuck problems, not sure what happened yesterday but glad its over.I agree the band has a mind of its own, Thanks for your help and support

Even at 2 years out and not having a fill since Jan 30th, I still have to be very careful of what and how I eat in the mornings. Eggs have always been an issue for me, no matter how I have tried to eat them. I eat an oatmeal egg white meal most mornings for breakfast. It gives me carbs and protein and keeps me full until lunch. I add blueberries and a couple of chopped nuts for my fruit and healthy fats. Also when ever I have a PB episode I usually can not take on solid foods for at least 24 hours or I continue to PB, I ususally just do protein drinks. As Cheryl stated above sometimes it can take 2-3 weeks after a fill to adjust to the new feeling and pressure you fill. After my last fill in January it took me over 3 weeks to adjust. A couple weeks ago due to some poor choices (holiday snacks) I have had a few PB incidents and some reflux, my bands gentle way of saying cut it out.
