Looking For Pcos Stories Of Encouragement

Hello everyone. I am excited about this new journey in my life. I just got banded on May 30 and I am down 12 pounds. I have been struggling with PCOS for over 15 years. It is the most horrible and depressing thing to have. I have had most all of the problems you can have with PCOS. Huge infertility issues, tons of weight gain, no periods, lots of hair, roseacea, insulin resistence, and more. PTL I did manage to have at least one child through ferility treatments, but was unable to have any more after numerous attempts. Last year, I ended up having to have a hysterectomy due to numerous tumors on my ovaries. They were benign thank the Lord, but the doctors did not want to take any chances. I have been overweight for many years and have not been happy with myself for a long time. This weight is causing other medical issues as well. I had been thinking about doing the lap band for the last two years and finally did it. I know I have a lot to turn with this lap band and for this new life.

I hope to hear some wonderful and encouraging stories from fellow PCOS patients that have had lap band. Hopefully we can all encourage one another.

I don't have PCOS, but, I can tell you lap band surgery is changing my life. I am so much healthier and happier. I wish this for you too:)

Congratulations on having the surgery! Remember, the first six weeks are for healing. It takes several fills to feel restriction. You really have to have patience with yourself. I look forward to hearing about your success in the future.

Find your joy....its out there.

I was diagnosed a few years ago with PCOS (but probably had it much longer). Was banded two months ago and have already lost 30 pounds since I started seeing the dr. in February! Have been trying unsuccessfully to have children for the past four years, hoping losing the weight will help with that. But along with the 30 pounds, my blood pressure has dropped and I am feeling so much better! My husband and I recently joined a wellness gym and I love the group fitness classes! And for the first time in I don't know how long, I am under 200 pounds! Yay!! :)

I have PCOS as well. I am pre-op still but I join you in the hope that these issues will subside as the weight takes a hike. I am more than happy to share any changes I notice once I am that side of the process.
