Aetna Insurance...Waiting...Waiting...Waiting...

My paperwork was submitted yesterday to the insurance company. I called Aetna today and they said they had no record of my paperwork. So I called the lapband center Im going to and the girl thats working on my case said that she sends it through a different way and that most of the staff is not able to see it....I asked her if I should continue to check on the progress of the case and she said not to....that I should just let her handle it from here because we dont want to "rock the boat" too much...It seems like the insurance makes decisions however they want to on these surgeries...Like even if your meeting ALL the requirments that THEY set for you it seems like they can still find a way to deny it...I am trying not to think about it too much. I really hope I get approved and Im trying to stay positive...I just feel like insurance companies only think about the short term costs of surgery and not how beneficial and money saving it will be in the long run..

It will seem like it takes a while but please be patient. Let the doctors office take care of it for you. They have experiance with this and they will do what needs to be done. When I was waiting for appoval i thought it would take forever but keep the faith. :D

:ugh:  Waiting on insurance approval was very stressful for me as well! It took mine a little more than a week. It is so hard to wait for something you want so bad. And it sucks even more that in all reality you are waiting on someone else to deside something that means THIS MUCH TO YOU and nothing to them! I wanted to scream at them and say...do you realize you pretty much are deciding whether I live or die? But that's just me....I tend to be a little dramatic at times. As hard as it is...give them 5 or 6 days. If you haven't heard back call them. As long as you have done everything they ask there really should be no reason for them to deny you.

But I will tell you....you can ask my husband....I felt the same way....almost like they just flip a coin... Keep me updated please :)

Thank you Arnetta and Reikorenee! I apprieciate that! It is REALLY hard to wait. And the doctors office told me that it is somewhat of a GAME with the insurance companies...That made me sick to my stomach...Like what do they really do?? Flip a coin to see who gets it?? I would think if I am meeting all of THEIR requirments (42 BMI, prediebetes, 3 month nutrtion/exercise/diet program and then i even added a letter of recommedation from my doctor and I also wrote a personal letter to Aetna telling them how much this will mean to me and my family). Surely with all that information they will approve me!! I really hope so. If not I will APPEAL APPEAL APPEAL!!!! :D

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! Einarmige Banditen
