Why is everyone complaining??

I think people misunderstand what the LapBand is all about. It is, for me, a way to diet and FEEL FULL while doing it. You can't suck down calories like the Lap Band will protect you. Seriously folks get some perspective.

I agree totally some think its there perfect solution, it takes ALOT of work, exercise and portion control doing your part, you signed to do your part if you don't guess what the weight don't come off. It keeps you feeling full but if your going to over eat anyways the Lapband is not for you.

After a year with my band that I paid 15K for, I think I have an excellent perspective. My doc told me that I would lose about 70 lbs. We went over details of what that would entail. I was right on board. I have always been an fitness and nutrition nut, although I use to overeat a lot! So I thought this was perfect for me. I eat 1000 cals a day and work out 1.5 hours a day very intensely. I seldom eat sugar or carbs. My doc says he doesnt really understand what is happening. I have lost 40 lbs in this year. It has taken a lot of work and a lot of dieting. At this point, after fills and unfills, the band is doing very little. So yes, I complain about it. Is is very frustrating to know that you are doing things right and the body just isnt following. Please understand that everyone is different and when we use this forum to display our situations it is only done in hopes of support. After all, no one else understands what we go thru other than other bandsters

I found during this journey you body will stagnate for some reason. My suggestion, whatever you did in the biginning to loose weight, continue the same progress such as stage 1, 2 and 3. Sometimes the chemical in certain foods isn't doing our body good. But when were on that stage 1, 2 and 3 it worked. Good Luck people.

Hello women! Also...don't forget that hormones play a huge role with being able to lose weight. If you have PCOS, thyroid issues, or something in combination with obesity, it may cause you to lose weight slower because of hormone imbalances. You may want to check this out as well. I have PCOS and it is very difficult for me to lose weight. But, knowing this has helped me to adjust better to the band anyway, bc the stuff that I shouldn't eat with the band, I shouldn't eat with PCOS....such as bread, rice, pasta, etc...the yummy carbs. Hormones have a huge influence on the body...something you may want to check into.

I read your external blog and loved it! Thank you for sharing! I think the reality of the band is just like everything else in life.....everyone has their own unique experience, and just like everything else in life....some people succeed, some people don't. And as for your post on beer, I have been able to enjoy a cold one here & there!
