I'm so defeated and discouraged...I just want to quit. So apparantly, I can't even last a stinking month until my first fill without a binge. AND...many people say that it takes them several fills to find restriction. WTF...I just want to give up.

Living sadly,

Laura

Get the Peanut Butter, Chips out of the house and buy new shoes... not Taco Bell!!! You can do this... On another note... I have had McDonalds since I was banded... ordered a wrap and small fry... Only ate half the wrap.. and some fries and was TOTALLY FULL!!! SO just hang on.. you will get there and even when you have the fill, you will still be able to "taste" some of the naughty food... just not a lot. I am at 6.5cc's... loving this so called sweet spot!! Good Luck!!!

Laura71-When A drug user goes to rehab they have a fight on there hands to get off drugs, they get out and slide back into there old habits and reuse again, what you need to do is change your old habits so you don't slide back into it again,go a different route when you leave the house instead of driving by taco bell, and when you find yourself slipping back into old habits do something different,(when I tryed to quite smoking I bought a 2000 pc puzzle and that help me occupy my mind,)what I'm saying is find another friend to hang out with instead of Taco Bell and the other old friends that you had like Mcdonalds, don't forget they do sale salads and

-like bandednellie said they do sale wraps and other lite foods as well _, you dont eat to you get full, you eat to keep from getting hungery, little snacks-cut up apples, oranges, grapes, things like that,,,

I totally binged before my first fill(which was today!)! I'm not condoning it but don't be so hard on yourself!! I had even gained back some weight. I thought the DR would go off on me but he said it was normal to gain a little back before your first fill. One day at a time!

Ive had plenty of those days. I eat whatever I want. I have had 2 fills now. Obviously I cant eat as much as I use to but if I want Taco Bell I have it. You shouldnt have to be so restrictive with yourself. I can tell you that once you have more than 4cc's in your band, you wont be able to eat that way. Trust me on this. You have the rest of your life to learn and live with this tool on your belly.

I totally agree with Kelly111. I am working very hard to exercise and lose this weight....and I have loss 49 lbs in 4 months. I can't say that I will never have a bite of cheese cake again. However, I know that every once in a while, it will okay to have a bite or two. I have worked really hard to change my thinking with the lapband. To me a diet seems so restrictive. So, I tell myself that I am changing my eating habits for life...and it is okay to have a craving every now and again. So don't beat yourself up over this. Also, keep a journal and remind yourself that you are worth it. The one phrase that my doctor office gave me is HALT! I use this in the evenings which is the greatest challenge to me. H: Am I hungry? A: Am I angry? L: Am I lonely? T: Am I tired? I would also add a B: Am I bored? It helps if you can identify why? Good luck on your journey!

Thanks for the replies, I am mostly upset because there was no real hunger involved with the majority of my eating. I was procrastinating homework and tired. If I continue to eat for reasons other than hunger, I will always have a weight problem, with or without the band.
