4yr failure and pulling no punches

Where to begin? i think by just plain admitting I like eating. I can't blame anyone or anything. I just plain like food. A LOT.! My body show just how much. The Michlene Tire Mascot is a mere shadow compared to me. I learned to sabatoge my lap band and will not give up any of my secrets here for obvious reasons. I have one grown son who sent me a heart wrenching e mail that both showed me how much he loved me and simutanously kicked me in the rear.(an easy target ) After his e mail woke my too comfortable self up, I did a self evaluation and I have a new desire for a healthy body. I worked out a plan with him and one of the first things we decided is that I need help and that I needed to join something for support. So here I am. HELP ME,! i have been a miserable failure all these years. Loosing a little , then gaining a lot. I do not want this to be another one of those times. I want this to be an absolute life changing success experience. I want to go to Disney Land with my Son's family. I am wheelchair bound because of my legs and a radical surgical procedure that did not go well about 15 years ago. That is not an excuse for my lack of success. I don't have an excuse. I have a reason, but not an excuse. Nothing can excuse my gluttony. I am asking for anyone who would be willing to read my blog (this is the first one i have ever done) and comment , suggest, encourage and just plain give me someone to account to. That would be Awesome. Please HELP ME. Also I am not very swift on computer tech verbage and still learning how to navigate this site. Hope this gets out there....Project Disney

What went wrong? I am only 2 months post-op and sturggling because I have done nothing but continue to gain weight. How are you sabotaging your band? With the band tight are you still able to eat whatever you want?

Im so sorry to hear your story and wonder if it wont happen to me as well. Im just so curious to learn a little more about your story.

Bless your heart Kelly 111, The band works to this day. And I know how to make it work. But i also know how to get more food into my stomache. especially for the things that are in direct opposition to healthy eating. I am determined this time to stick it out and use it as it should be used. That is restricting my intake and CHOOSING to eat the right things. I think i felt so cheated by having to lose 50 lbs before they would do the surgery that after i was allowed to eat solids i just plain went crazy with the good stuff. (which is really the bad stuff)

Boy did you ever come to the right website! We are all here for you!! Put the past behind you and time to forge ahead with your new, healthy life! You are very blessed to have such a loving son. And please stop being so hard on yourself, I know laughter helps cover pain, but making fun of yourself should stop. I totally, I mean totally, get your jokes....said them about myself many times. I needed to stop though because I was respecting myself, one of the things that got me to get so big. Love yourself and be nice to yourself, you deserve it lady! I think one of the things you really need to do is keep going in for fills and to talk to your doc and nutritionist -- the folks in the office are also very helpful (at least at my docs office). You are not alone! You can do this! From what I have read from much more experienced folks than I, the adjustments and fills are critical to get to the "Sweet Spot" where you feel full after a very small portion. I like food a lot too, so I definitely relate. But I think that we will feel so much better if we take care of ourselves and lose this weight. Hang in there!

I'M NOT A SPEDDY ON THE COMPUTER EITHER, BUT I DO MY BEST. I AM SORRY YOU ARE HAVING A TOUGH TIME WITH YOUR BAND. WE SPRND ALL THIS MONY HOPPING FOR A MIRICLE, AND WHEN IT DOES'T HAPPEN RIGHT AWAT WE ARE PISSED OFF. BUT THE PROBLRM ISN]T WHAT WE ARE EATING, BUT WHATS EATING US!!!! WHT CAN]T WE BE IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO EACH OTHER TO LICK THIS DRAGON. I'M NOT ANY DIFFEREN THAN YOU ARE. I WAD BANDED ON SEPT29/10 AND WAS 301 THAT DAY, SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD 3 FILLS AND STILL HAVE LITTLE TO NO RESTRICTION. I CANNOT GET BELOW 295 TO SAVE MY LIFE. AND SURE I FEEL SORRT FOR MYSELF, BUT I CAN'T LET IT STOP ME FROM CARRYING ON. I WILL GO FOR A 4TH AND 5TH SND 6TH FILL IF I HAVE TO TO GET ME BACK ON TRACK. LOTS MORE TO SAT ,BUT I MUST GO. LETS TRY TO WORK TOGETHER AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER. TELL YOU WHAT, WE WILL LOSE 50+ POUNDS AND I WILL JOIN YOU IN DISNEY.

Can I suggest one life altering change... Drop the idea that you are a failure. Negative ideas are self sabotaging and self fulfilling prophecies. You have, in the past, made poor decisions. You did not fail. You can learn to make positive decisions and change how you feel by starting with empowering yourself. Your worth it, but you have to believe it to make it true. Start every day with the same idea that today is a new day, I start now!
