I am six weeks post op and just got my first fill today. It was amazing. At first I was scared because the doctor got out the needle and didn't bother to give me anything to numb it. I didn't feel a thing! I mean it. I couldn't even feel the needle go in. It was crazy. He put in 6 cc's. I was able to drink the water he gave me with no problems. I am on liquids for 48 hours so I have no idea if I am going to have restriction. I don't seem to have any with the liquid.

I'm only 1 1/2 weeks post op and need a fill...I'm able to eat whatever but still have some restriction (not a lot)...I have to wait till Jan 8th so I guess it's will power time and have to keep looking forward to the end prize.

Good to know your fill went well - Little scared for that...Interesting how everyone is so different when it comes to restriction and the amounts needed for fills...

I'm so glad I did this and look forward to all the changes & challenges ahead.

Am 14 Months into my Lap-Band and I have 5.4 cc in a 10cc band. And I have not had a fill in 4 months.

No I do not feel restricted, for me it's just enough and am still losing weight. Am down 121 pounds.

Good luck to you..

You will never have restriction with fluids, you could'nt live like that. Restriction is a term used for solids we all want that to assist with weight loss. If you can't tolerate fluids there is something seriously wrong.

To the person who posted that you cant have restriction on fluids....I have a question. Last week when I had my first fill, he put in 4cc's and I couldnt get the water down. He had to take 1 cc out. It was an awful feeling. I would call that "restriction" with fluid. Im second guessing myself now because the very next day I was back eating whatever I wanted. Every now and then I feel a sensation and I stop eating. But when it goes away in a few minutes I reusme eating. Im still only eating 1/3 of what I use to but I have not lost 1 pound yet and its been 2 months. Is it normal to feel restriction with the water when the fill is done and then a few days later its like nothing happened?

I am tolerating fluids great. What I was trying to say was that I won't know if I have restriction with the 6 cc's he put in until I start eating solids. My doctor wanted me to do liquids two days and then mushies two days and then solids so I won't know until this weekend. I certainly hope I will fill some restriction because I have been hungry all day on the liquids.
