Help!!!! I'm starving!!!!

I am supposed to be on a high protein & veggie diet 2 weeks before my surgery. I did not do well at all. Now I'm trying a liquid diet to prepare for surgery Friday. I am ready to die! I'm hungry, my head hurts, and I can 't resist temptation. Why can't I just do the liquid diet 24 hrs before? uuuugggghhhhhh!!!!!!:cursing:

Please stick to the Diet, it is crucial to a good surgery, YOUR LIVER has to be small and if you are not dieting right now, it won't be and could get in the way during surgery and placing the Band could be difficult. Just think about getting through one hour at the time and don't eat but what you are suppose to, please. I just don't want to see you have any problems. It is so hard right now, but promise you after the surgery it will get better.

you need be on this diet for many reasons, first and foremost, to protect your liver during surgery! The liver sits very close to the top of the stomach, in the area that will be banded - and the smaller the liver is, the less pain you have with band placement!

We all have to make accomodations to the way we eat when we are banded - however, the change in our diets is what is best for our bodies! Don't fight the diet - work with it, with the realization that you are making the choice of a lifetime for yourself!

You only have 2 days wow I have 5 I'm up Oct.18 it is hard but do something stop dwelling on food, chewing sugar-free gum has been a life saver for me I have about 5 different flavors,flavored waters helps a lot also, get creative & hang in there, Since nobody knows why I am not eating I have to resist all kind of foods I'm not saying its easy but the reward will be greater. GOOD-LUCK

I am getting banded on October 18th! It has not been easy to be on a all liquid diet. But at least you had the choice of protein, I was not given that option. I just keep telling my self that I need to fight the instinct to cheat because this is what I signed up for when I decided to get the LAP BAND, and this is what awaits me afterward. Sugar-free ice pops have been great. I can crunch them & it makes me feel like I am eating. Stay positive & just keep looking for the light at the end of the dark foodless tunnel!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
