When I decided to get LapBand I weighed 275lbs, lost about 20 on my own, I am two weeks post op and weigh 242...4 months ago my clothes were size 22, went to try on clothes at the store yesterday, I can wear size 16:thumbup:..I promised that I would not by clothes because I'm going to be loosing epescially at the beginning....Here is the issue, I'm in a professional, that requires me to wear suite every day..ALL my suites are way to big, they are litterally hanging off me and looks like I borrowed them...I hate the thought of buying more suites when they probably will not fit after a month....and we all know suites are not cheap...what to do:confused:

How about trying a consignment shop? You could get rid of your old suits and maybe find some 'new' ones that will hold you over while you lose.

Consignment shop or host a clothing exchange with people from various sizes with style. You can also take them to a seamstress and have them resized or reconstructed. Or donate them all to a women's shelter and then take advantage of the great sales out right now. Also if you have a JC Penney outlet near you they have some cute suits for around $30 each usually retail for $150 and up.

I was looking under new posts & saw a Clothes Exchange for Bandsters. It's under Re: Looking for September 2010 Bandsters, page 27. They are starting a new group to exchange clothes with other Bandsters. You might check it out & see how it works. Great job on the weight loss!

Consignment shops, Clothes Exchanges, EBay. I sold 30 pairs of pants, suits, shirts and skirts. Didn't make a lot; enough to buy a couple "interim" outfits and a pair of shoes. But I felt good. The stuff I didn't sell I gave to the local abuse shelter through church. Congratulations on your success!

I know you hate to do this, but I did it and I feel alot better. GET RID of your size 22 clothes and send them to charities or friends and family that can use them.

Then...

Purchase a black jacket and black pair of pants or two.

Then.....

Oh yea, keep a few tops. Switch your top everyday but wear the same jacket and pants.

I'm a professional as well and luckily someone lost some weight around the same time I was dieting and she gave me some clothes that finally fit.

Now I'm getting the band the size 18/16 wardrobe that I've built up will not fit me in a few months, so I will be doing the same thing over again BUT this time I will be glad to give up size 18/16 clothes for something smaller.

Good Luck and Congradulations on your weight loss

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
