I had the LAP-BAND® done on July 6th...and I don't have my first fill until Aug 16th..I am starting to feel a little hungry in between meals...

How did you manager to get all the protein everyday? What were your easier foods to eat. I am not going to lie and say that it is easy for me...I was a big pasta and rice person, which contributed to my weight, I know that. I know it is easier than i thought it would be, so I am not missing it.

I am trying to eat more filling foods. What are some of your more filling foods????

I Love the forums...You guys have a lot of information and recipes which are great. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I get filled up when I eat a meal with chicken (3 oz.) and a vegetable (1/4 c), then a fruit or carb.

I am still supplementing with a protein shake in order to get in enough protein. I am not eating a full cup at each meal yet (but I'm only in my 4th week). I had a concern earlier with only taking in 465 - 500 calories and had to up that a bit. I haven't had trouble with any foods yet, but have been really, really careful (no bread, etc.), and I chew everything really well.

I have been using a lemon pepper marinade and cooking the chicken in it on the stove top (with a lid) - it's really moist and tender.

Good luck!!

I love the Adkins advantage protien shakes. They are about 160 cals, 15g of protien and 1g sugar. They fill me up for about 2-3 hours and are very tastey! Good luck!

Make sure you are getting your water in also. And you need to get comfortable with feeling a little hungry -- have to learn how to feel hungry, full, getting full..... all over again.

I like sugar free jello, popsicles or pudding.

Good luck! Keep up the good work..............

Hey I got my band on the 1st of July and will get my first fill on the 11th of August......I feel I can eat loads and have not really felt restriction..I get scared that it has not worked....I have lost 16lbs....but feel like I still have to restrict my diet as opposed to the band restricting it....I have sugar free yoghurts, jelly (jello) and drink a lot of water before I eat. I really miss pizza....do you know if you can eat it? or do you have to avoid it like you do with bread, rice and meat?

I begin my day with either a shake and multivitamin, or an omelet with cheese/two eggs. 4 hours later I have tuna salad and crackers-kits you buy at store. then it's water for the next 4 hours. Dinner is a cup of fish, chicken or beef, with a 1/2 cup of veggie. Two hours later a sugarless popsicle or two, then some water before bed. That's my routine. Lunch at work usually are tuna and crackers, or small microwave dishes, like chili beans, or mac and cheese, or a small 390 caloried meal. The grocery store has nice protein meals high with protein which I usually eat at lunch. When I do, I eat lighter in the evening. I do drink coffee in the a.m. A must for me, since I love my coffee. Other salads are egg salad, or a mixed salad. Nice choices for mushies are tuna or egg salad. I also enjoy mashed potatoes and pork and beans. Chicken boiled and baked is a great choice too. I love fish, and any type of fish as a meal is good. Hope this provides you with more choices. Have a great day.
