Stuck! More Ways Than One!

This just happened so its pretty "fresh" in my mind..........

 

I haven't really had any solid food since last Sunday night (Monday fill), and I was ready today at lunch. Didn't have breakfast; had a slim fast shake (1/2 at 9 am), and was fairly hungry by noon.

 

My friend and I went to our favorite Sushi resteraunt to have salads. Mine is crab and shrimp all chopped up in little pieces over lettuce. (I don't eat the lettuce won't even try). I take a bite of crab -- nummy and easy. It isn't really chewing its so small, but I chew chew chew anyways. I sit down my chopsticks, chat for a minute or two and take the next bite. Excellent. But then it happens. AGAIN. Brain fart. Forget to wait and shovel about 2-3 forkfuls in 20 seconds while talking even!!! And AGAIN, I get stuck.

 

Poor friend this is the second time she's seen this in as many weeks. I walk slowly to the bathroom, hoping that getting up will help. NOPE. Slime for awhile, go back to the table with hiccups. Take a swallow of water.

 

WRONG decision. Makes it all worse. Go back to the bathroom, slime again. Back to the table where she is paying already. We leave and then I endure THE LONGEST FIVE MILES ever. Longer than being in labor and driving to the hospital. Hiccups and feeling terrible all the way. She is talking but I can't respond, just sweating and convinced I'm dying (I did not verablize this; I couldn't) Pull into the driveway at work, all of a sudden its all gone!

 

NOT LEARNING is really frustrating to me. I'm not like this with intellectual stuff. This eating is so ingrained I'm not doing well.

 

I'm mad at me. I will keep reminding myself, but I'm mad. I don't want to hurt the band, and I need to figure out what I'm doing and make sure I'm getting nutrients instead of eating and spitting them all back up.

 

Thanks for letting me get this "off my chest", in more ways than one!

You know, we all know that it is probably bound to happen . .. thanks for sharing the experience. This is one place I hope to not follow in your footsteps :-), but am fully aware that it's such a possibility. It's over . ..you've learned a lesson . .. .don't beat yourself up. Ate four Shrimp today at lunch, did not chew one little bite thoroughly and it was about to kill me, the chest pain was aweful! So I went in the bathroom and made myself throw it up! So pure relief was mine. A few minutes later I finished my lunch and it was good. But Shrimp is one of the foods I love, but do have trouble with. I think it lumps together in the chanel to the stomach. Maybe next time I will just eat three shrimp.

I understand what you're talking about completely. I think to myself all the time why can't I get it thru my head to wait in between bites and take smaller bites.... Just stay positive on your journey. I wish you the best of luck.

OMG!!! In the same boat with you all!!...Have awesome restriction maybe a little bit too much but I could work with it. In morning protein shake. Lunch! Soup or something soft but even that I end up in the bathroom. Come back and try it again. Taking my time I would say it takes me about 30min to finish lunch. Dinner I try to have my protein chicken, fish...and again for the first part I’m in the bathroom. Come back and try it again. This is the learning part. Taking our time to chew our food. It’s hard!!     • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
