Hey Dana,

Try to relax. Everything will go just fine. I am 4.5 weeks post op and doing awesome! I'm even out walking a mile a day. I too was nervous about the surgery, but it honestly goes so fast. I had to get a patch from the doctor to put behind my ear to stop me from reacting to the meds they put you to sleep with. This helped to calm be because I knew I wouldn't throw up after surgery. The best suggestion I have is to take someone with you that will be supportive and loving. Focus on the positives of surgery. In 4 weeks I was taken off my Metformin for insullin resistance and couldn't be happier. You will be just fine. Happy thoughts and Best of luck! :w00t:

Hi all, My name is Dana. I am 28 single F from California. I am getting my LAP-BAND® surgery on May 17th 2010. I am so scared and terrified of being put to sleep... mainly. I have tried to ease my mind but nothing seems to work. I want everything to go smoothly and I have done numerous research on my surgeon and here he is a VERY good one in Los Angeles. ...however I am still terrified...... Please anyone... someone....?! help me get over this fear of being put to sleep or at least get some kind of comfort..... I suffer from Sleep apnea.. (sleep with C-PAP machine) High blood pressure (on pills) High Cholesterol on pills) and horrible acid reflux (on pills) also I am borderline diabetic..... I know this surgery will help with all of these terrible diseases I have.......yet, I am still so SCARED!!:confused::sad::unsure::smile2::smile::frown:[/color']

:thumbup:Dont worry about a thing! They gave me something b4 I was even wheeled into the OR, well that knocked me OUT! All i remember is being in the holding room, then being rolled up to my room cause surgery was over. Dont worry about it, anesthesia sleep is the best sleep, just think about it this way... when u wake up UR DONE! Its great. I also have sleep apnea, the hosp has a cpap on hand (usually) and they will put it on u while ur under, but always make sure ur Dr knows u have it, cant hurt. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Dana

I was banded on April 12. There is really nothing to be scared about. I was a little nervous about the anesthesia, the last thing I remember after the gave me the anesthesia was, "Oh boy thus stuff isn't working" the next thing I knew I was in recovery and needing to go to the bathroom. The post op pain wasn't too bad either, they gave me painkillers in the hosp. and just tylenol when I got home. Try to relax and GOOD LUCK!
