Fill issues and bruising?

Hey,

Not sure on the bruising, but my doctor won't do fills for the first 6 weeks as he said it takes that long for the body to heal. I would talk to your doctor about doing a smaller dose for your next fill. Try not to worry it causes you to release chemicals that actually makes you gain weight. Happy thoughts your way. I'm sure the 2nd time around you'll be fine. Good luck!

This is my first post here! I've been lurking and reading a while and just wanted to know if anyone else had these same issues. I was banded 3/15 and had my first fill (3.5cc) 4/14. By 4/17, I was vomiting up everything, including water. The Dr completely unfilled my band. I'm planning on going back in in a few weeks for a refill, but I'm worried! Has anyone else had a "normal" amout put into their band and reacted like this? Also, is it abnormal to bruise up after having a fill? I got a huge half-dollar sized bruise over the port site right after the fill, and now, more than two weeks later, it's (finally!) beginning to fade. Should I expect this bruising after every fill?

I always bruise after my fills. My bruises are usually a little bigger than a quarter. My Dr. said that was normal but you may want to ask your Dr. I bruise easy anyways. Also, my Dr. has had to go very slow with my fills...it just seems like if he puts much in there it ticks my band off...one time I was on liquids for almost 3 weeks. Just give it time and maybe ask for smaller fills if that is an option for you. The most I have had at one time is 2 cc's. I have had 3 fills and am at 5 cc's now.

Best of luck!
