I was banded september 22,2009. I weighed at 326 pre surgery. As of Dec 22,2009 I am at 250 lbs. I have had only 1 fill. t o me the key is exercise. I still have food cravinings but I eat till i'm full then stop and eat the rest the next meal. I been a active member at the YMCA for 10 years but could not loose wait till the lap band surgery. To me the key is exercise. Start by walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes for 6 days a week. I know the weight will start coming off then.

you are not going to lose without restriction and that sometimes takes a little longer for everyone. I have had two fills, got to 5ccs and couldn't really eat much of anything solid. I was miserable and needed an adjustment...or unfill. Things are better now, but I still have a lot of trouble eating anything before noon time. Follow the rules..protein first, no liquids before, during or after and exercise. No one said it was easy, you have to work at it, but when you do it the right way, the rewards will come. Good luck to you!

I am the queen of not losing weight. You don't have enough restriction yet. It takes awhile to get there. What I did, is don't think of it as a long haul. You have 2 wks between fills, so think of it as, "I can do it for just 2 wks". Oiko greek yogurt is a good start. Lots of protein so it sticks with you. Drink, drink, drink! We are in this together. I can't lose weight without help!

I was banded in June too. My band was pre-filled with 3cc. I have now had 3 fills all together bringing me to a total of 9cc, and all I have lost including the weight i lost on pre op is 25lbs. I walk 30 min on the treadmill and still nothing. My doctor doesn't help because he tells me "walking don't count". Oh and did i mention my first band malfunction so i had to get a second one. 2 surgeries 2 bands same day! With me so far? I am wondering is my band in the right place or what? Should I push for a placement check or not?

If your only eating 3 meals a day try increasing your snacks is what I call them I went from 3 to 8 snacks a day but they were only 6oz and not over that.. Some days smaller some days not.. You have to remember you are the one in control now.. Just continue with your band adjustments and support groups and the key rules Protein first, then veggies then Fruits.. I am 2yrs post op in Feb and have lost 200lbs I also now work for a Bariatric surgeon.. Pack your meals so your never left with bad choice and not eating. Skipping meals is the worst enemy you will have, and exercise.. Swimming, walking, I joing the walk for a cure so not only am I walking for the cure Im walking for my health... Get involved and make your family make the healthy changes if that is the problem and as well cooking for the family is different the only cook the way you eat and they will have to change as well.. You family will be alot healthier for it.
