Well I have not posted anything on lapbandtalk.com for a few months. I had my surgery done in August and I am loving it. I was at 370 on my surgery date and now I am down to 309. It is great but I keep thinking I should be doing more. I try to work out at least three times a week. But I feel like I am hitting a wall (which I know can happen). I don't think I am getting enough protein in my diet but it is hard to eat when i am not hungry. I asked my DR. about it and said just keep on doing what I am doing. I know my DR does not like the idea have drinking protein shakes but I am beginning to this I need to. With all that being said, I have decided to enter myself into the Pittsburgh Marathon in May. I know it is crazy but I think I can do it. Ok, I am done for now. Let me how is everybody is doing with their weight loss. I love to read people's blog about how their life is change for the good.

Good luck on the marathon. Wish I could run a marathon. I am just getting over a broken foot that they have no idea how I broke it. I have been told that I can break it again if I walk on it the wrong way. I have been at a stand still. On the 1st of Dec. I started to work out. Have been doing the treadmill and bike last week and monday the personal trainer showed me the machines and I hope that I get to work out at least 2 times a week. I really did enjoy it. I am going to take it easy and work my way up to 3 times a week. It is hard to find time with my work schedule and my kids schedule. We all are on different time schedules. I had my surgery in April and only have lost about 50 lbs so far. Good luck and keep up the good work.

I was also banded in August and have lost 55 lbs. I haven't even been exercising much. I have a bad knee and have only been able to swim which I do 4-5 times a week. I don't think you have to do anything different. Sounds like you're doing really well. I don't know why you think you have to start using shakes. They don't work with the band but slip through, I think you'd just be hungry all the time. Good luck, keep up the good work!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
