Well, I went to the surgeon this week and I lost another 6 lbs. I was happy with that.

The doctor decided that I did not need a fill because of what I shared with him. I am still having bp episodes and wasn't too sure I was ready for another fill. But, In the end I would have went with whatever he said.

I am plugging along learning what I can and can't have. Sometimes it really depends on the time of day. Next week on Wed. Sept 30 th I leave for a vacation for a week in Disney. My goal is strictly don't GAIN any weight. I am ok with staying the same but I will not gain. That is going to be a challenge. Well everyone keep up all the good work and take things one day at a time!!!! :thumbup:

Hello, I am having my surgery in one week. How long have you had your band? What is the hardest aspect of having lap band surgery?

6 pounds it good! I think some of us keep thinking back to those papers we read where "we'll lose 2# a week" and now that we're here it's not true.

But losing it slow is good, and what ever amount it is it great, we're losing, not gaining.

Think of it as;

You are learning now.

You are learning how to use your new tool.

You are learning how to eat again, the right way.

Because you're going on vacation, give yourself permission to have one bad thing a day. But think about it, if it's an ice cream...only have half, if it's a burger, have half the bun or none at all but everything else. Want fries...pick 10 and toss the rest. Just take a moment to think before you do. Enjoy your vacation!

Don't lose the fun because you're thinking of food all the time. (what to eat or not to eat)

My DS's (12 & 11) took me out for my b-day dinner tonight and I had fried shrimp, baked potato w/butter and sour cream and dessert. I just watched the amount that I had and enjoyed it all.

"I owned it, acknowledged it, I learned from it, I worked with it and got over it"

Dwelling on it will just keep you down.

Have fun at Disneyland and say HI to Minnie for me!

P.S. If you do gain a few pounds...so what, you have an awesome tool that will help you (as it has in the past) to lose weight. It's ok, just make good choices like I know you can and enjoy!
