So, yesterday was my day and today I'm so miserable. I've developed a terrible cough and I have the worst gas pains I've ever experienced. My stomach hurts a little but I can deal with that. I called & talked to the nurse and she advised me that the coughing and gas were perfectly normal, but to me it's so uncomfortable. I still dont regret getting banded and I know in the end it wil all be worth it......That's it. ( guess I just wanted to vent a lil )!!!

I was banded on August 4th and I tell you if anyone would have asked me on August 5th if I would recommend it - I think I would have probably said no, or at least I know I would not have given a firm "oh yea!" Whew - I am with you, those couple of days post-op, I was absolutely not at all prepared for. I can tell you, however, that it does get much better. I have to be honest and tell you it was only finally yesterday where I felt like 'good' So, while it does get better each day, in all fairness, give it a full week. I feel absolutely great right now and it has been a week. I never had any problems, pains with the incisions or such, but the gas and gas pains were awful!!!!!!!. The last couple of days there is MINOR discomfort in the port area (like a pulled muscle), but that is my only complaint. I am looking forward to this journey! My first fill is not until September 11, so my expectations will begin then, although I have lost a few pounds this week. Good Luck. Give me a shout if I can assist you in anyway. Take care!

Thanks for the encouragement !!! Since my last post, I've also developed jaw pain....I haven't been hungry at all which is a good thing. I've managed to get all my liquids in with no problem. I get my first fill Sept. 25, so until then hope all goes well!! TTYL

Hey

I'm 16 and i just had the band on the 29th. I'm not going to lie i was in a lot of pain i could barely walk. I couldn't even sleep in my bed i had to sleep on the couch which was horrible. They told me it would be nothing but wow it was the worst pain i've ever had. It's been almost 2 weeks since my surgery and i've lost 15 pounds already and i'm really not regretting it anymore lol. I hope you have a fast recovery and no pain at all after! I hope & wish you get the amazing results you want! Good luck.

CONGRATULATIONS! Ask your doc if you can take a cough suppressant...can't imagine coughing with that sore belly and it can't be good for all the internal stuff that's trying to heal. Hang in there, it will get better! -BG

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
