My Spouse

So my hunni is blessed to be naturally thin...less than 5% body fat on him...lucky man he is! But anyway...ever since I told him I was getting this surgery...he has been drinking protein shakes and lifting weights...going to the gym like crazy...and everything! He says he wants a lot more definition...(for what? to accompany the 6 pack he already has?) Whats up with that?? Is he trying to compete with me? The other day we had an argument about me getting the surgery...He tells me I am already beautiful..and that I dont need to change a thing, then he says he thought I was a confident woman..and he may not even want to be with someone who feels as though they need to alter themselves...but the fact that I weight 287lbs means nothing to him!! What is the deal?? We are both 21..and he gets to run around like a regular man his age...but for me..he wants me to stay fat? hmmmmm Can someone please tell me what the hell is this man thinking!!! :smile2:

I am in the process of preparing to have the surgery and my husband has gone through a roller coaster of responses to me getting it done as well. I think they are afraid that once we lose the weight, we will no longer want to be with them... actually, my husband even mentioned this to me. They are so hard to figure out!!

I've had the surgery and my husband was aware of it, he went with to the dr visits and seminars. To this day he is helping me on my eating and being supportive when I have my good and bad days. I wish you the best girl, maybe he is scared you might leave him when you have met your goal and look good. Best of luck to you

That's not cool. Did you guys talk about your choice before the surgery? If so, what did he say then? Its one thing if he likes his girl with some meat on her, but it is another thing if he would prefer you to be fat and on the verge of death just so he feels secure that you won't leave him.

With that said, yes...I would wager at the root of his issues is insecurity. He probably feels that with your confidence now...what are you going to be like when you lose 100 pounds?

My boyfriend is small too, loved me before and loves me now. He didnt see me as fat, and he has made mention of what will happen if I get skinny, etc...but we talked A LOT about everything as soon as I decided and its been smooth since then.
