I too am a Bandido now!

Ok, well let's see, Arrived at hospital at 5:00 A.M.. on the morning of Tuesday June 19th, Surgery started around 7:15. Promptly on time.....Today is Thursday the 21st of June. And all I have to say is, OMG!!!!! Honestly never dreamed it would be this painful...(Not to scare anyone away from having this dont) But just be prepared. It honestly hurts to even "BREATHE"!!!! Getting in & out of the bed is extremely major work. :think Oh, and also check this out, I weighed the morning of surgery, weighing in at an astounding 236.5...So, ok, yesterday afternoon, when I arrived home, I (for no good reason) decided to get on the scale.........Remember, no food or drink since 5:00 Monday afternoon.... Well, guess what the scaled said, 242.5:angryWhat the heck was that about. I hope it was just from all the fluids they put in me. But holy crap, I hope you can feel my pain. Anywho, weighed again this morning & it said 237, so maybe it will get better now. I sure hope it does. Well, getting back to the surgery, did I mention the pain?????LOL! oh well, I'm sure this too will pass. Speaking of passing..be prepared for lots & lots of air in your stomach that needs to be let out (ANY WAY POSSIBLE) This gas/air is very very bad. I feel as though maybe they dropped me on my left shoulder during surgery, I will have to investigate this.....:biggrin1: Anywho, I just had a very water protein shake & maybe I'll feel better soon. but for now, I'm thinking I will start sleepin in my recliner & maybe it won't be quite so painful as the bed is. ok, talk more soon..:sick

1 lb lost for a whole month! WTF????

Oh my heavens, went to the Dr. today for my 3rd fill. And I lost an amazing 1 freakin pound!!!! That SUCKS!!!! But I just don't feel like I have any restriction what so ever and I just stay so freaking hungry:hungry: WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????? And to make matters worse, after sticking me with that #2 Pencil sized needle, he only inserted .2 of saline:think So much pain for so little liquid! Then, his little SKINNY MINNY nurse walks in looks at my chart and says, "You been snacking?" And I'm like, "Oh no she didn't?" It didn't take a genius to figure that one out. She's a stupid Columbo wannabe! Ok, now having said that, I am really hungry, but nothing but clear liquids for today, so I had better get over being hungry. Ok, what else, well the Dr. said that this .2 should make a difference. This .2 puts me at 1.2 CC's it just don't seem like much to me. Oh well, time will tell. So, my next appt. is October 11th, I sure hope I have a better dr. visit than I did today, & maybe that little skinny observant blonde will have that day off, lol. "SHOCKED"

Well, today I went to have another adjustment. As of 2 weeks ago, I had 2.6cc in my band. Well, I've been able to eat whatever I wanted and was not happy about this, so today I was going to share this with him. As I received his usual tiny bit of .2 cc's of saline, I asked him how much did I have in my band? Expecting him to say 2.8, you can imagine my sad surpirse to hear him say "1.5"! Holy crap!!! No wonder, I've been so hungry. When he withdrew the saline from my band, it only had 1cc in it. So he added a .5 to it. WHAT HAPPENED????????????? He said it may have a leak in it. :eek: YA THINK Sherlock???????? Love him, but not so happy right now. Has this happened to anyone else? :omg:

Starting to worry

WTF is wrong with me??? I am just eating all the time, because I'm hungry all the time. Should I have gotten Gastric Bypass instead of the band??? I am going for like my 10th fill on Thursday. I'm at 2.6cc in my band, and I just can't really tell I've even got a band. I'm seriously worried. I think when I go to the Dr. on Thursday, I'm gonna ask him for a diet pill perscription. Ain't that freakin stupid!!!! Just really bummed out. I have 2 bad hips and am supposed to be having surgery in the very near future on my left hip and maybe then I will be able to start some form of walking or excercising. My dr. only likes to give .2 cc's at a time, but it's just not working for me. I had such high hopes. And I hate it when people come up to me and ask, so how much weight have you lost? Im like, wtf???? It's like they are more dissapointed in me than I am. Will I eventually get to where I can't eat much? Or is this as good as it gets?:rolleyes So very sad, Tgirl:help:

Awe Crap!

Well, I was supposed to go back to the Dr. on Dec. 20th, however, I knew I was just eating way to much so I moved it up to today. Well, I seem to be finding the weight that I've lost. I gained 2 lbs since my last visit 2 weeks ago.:think Life sucks!!! I told him to wire my mouth shut. Instead he just gave me ANOTER .2cc's. What is the deal with this ".2" business. I want more, I need more, I have to have MORE! :faint:So, once again, I made another appt. in 2 weeks. This has got to start getting better. I can still eat a whole plate of food. The only way I've been losing any weight is simply by dieting. And my will power, (especially in the month of December) is really really really bad.:omg: Did I mention how really bad my will power is? LOL! Well, on the bright side, tonight is my last night of school til January 14th. Woohoo, yippeeeeee! Well anywho, Merry Christmas to all and Happy new year!!! TTFN, Tammie:kiss2:

Ok, so, last Thursday I went to the Dr. & he actually didn't want to give me a fill because for whatever reason I had lost 5 lbs in two weeks. However, I somehow convinced him to give me a little. So, once again, I got .2 added. Can't believe I actually managed to lose weight during the Thanksgiving holiday. Yaay me! However, what if there was something wrong with his scales?????:omg:Things that make ya go , hmmmmmmm! Made it through the holiday

Well, Thanksgiving was wonderful. All the family was there & everyone was doing great. Food was awesome! Actually ate more than I should have, (No Doubt) but still managed to lose a couple pounds over the last week. I've never been able to say those words during the holiday's. So, Yaay me:clap2:!!!! I am really starting to tell some differences now. The other night, shortly after eating, I decided to have a big drink of water, well, that was a mistake. It simply wouldn't go down. I actually had to spit the water out, go figure!:omg: That was just crazy. I go back to the Dr. on Thursday morning. Looking forward to that. I would so love to see onederland by Christmas. .4 cc this time

:tea:OK, so I went back to the Dr. on 11-15-07,and I had sadly lost another (1) pound. So this time, he gave me .4cc's to make a total of 2cc's. I hope this helps. I so so so wanted to be in onederland by Christmas and at this rate it's gonna be Christmas of 2010. (Sadly laughing) Anywho, all is good, college is going good too. Lot's going on in my life at the moment. Really looking forward to the holidays & the Christmas break from school. Well anywho, I go back to the Dr. on Nov. 29th, maybe the results will really start showing up by then. Hopefully! Oh well, have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone. ttfn, Tammie

1 lb lost for 2 weeks!

Well, I went back for another fill yesterday, and I have lost a whopping 1 lb for the last two weeks. :girl_hug: And again, I only got a .2 injection of saline. That puts me at 1.6 cc. I sure wish he would be a little more generous with the saline.:phanvan Oh well, I go back to see him in 3 weeks so maybe I'll lose a couple more pounds by then. I guess I should be happy that at least I'm not gaining, right????:ranger: Oh well, other than that all is right with the world. Til next time, Tgirl

4lbs this month

Well, went back to the dr. last Thursday for another adjustment. Lost 4 lbs for the month. Not so great, but it's better than the 1 lb that was lost for the previous month. Only received .2 again. This puts me at 1.4 cc. T'aint enough!!!!! I told him to add at least a Cup, LOL. Oh well, luckily, this time he said he would see me in 2 weeks instead of a month. So, I will be going back on the 25th. Can't wait:whoo:!! I have to say that that is a mighty big needle poke for only .2 at a time.:faint:ok, well, til next time, cya, Tammie:car:

2nd Fill

So, yesterday I had my 2nd fill. And it was, of course, as painful as the 1st fill. He gave me another 1/2 a cc. for a total of 1 cc in my band. But I'm really confused because he said that we were almost half way there? At 1 cc???? I don't really understand how that can be possible. I mean it would be great and all, But does that mean that he expects me to lose the weight with only like 3 cc? Is that normal? I just don't know!!! He said I have the 10 band, but how much does the 10 band hold? Oh well, time will tell. I just want this fat to come off like yesterday, and I know that's not gonna be the case. But anywho, I think I can feel a little restriction today. I think.... :help: I hope....:nervous TTYL Tammie

Back from 1st Fill

I'm back from getting my 1st fill. Wow, what can one say? Oh, I know, I know what to say.. ... BIG FREAKIN NEEDLE!!!! WTF!!!:faint:OOOOUUUCCCCHHHHHHH!!!! And for only a 1/2 of a cc. :angry Man, it was a little more painful than I had expected it to be. But thankfully, he hit the port on the first stab I don't think I could have handled being stuck more than one time. So, I go back in 2 weeks and I sure hope he gives me more than a 1/2 a cc. For what it's worth, I did find out what kind of band I have. I have a 10 Inamed Band. So, anywho, that's my experience on the first fill. Oh, also, I am to be on clear liquids for today, soft foods for tomorrow & then back to regular foods on the third day. Man, I wish I would have ate something this morning before I went. But you know how it is when you know you're gonna get weighed it's hard to go ahead a pig out. The scale is bad enough on an empty stomach:p! 1st Fill TODAY!!!

YAAY!!!!!:clap2: I'm so excited, today is the first day of the rest of my life!!!! I have to be at the dr.'s office at 9:20 for my first fill. Anticipation is killing me. How will it feel? Will I have any restriction at all? Or, will I be like most everyone else, & feel nothing from Fill #1? Only time will tell. I'll journal back in this afternoon. Wish me luck:whoo: Tammie:kiss2:

Hungry girl!!

Well, one week from today, I will be receiving my first fill. And it can't get here fast enough!!! I'm just so darn hungry. I hope that the first fill will give me some restriction, although, from every thing I've read on here it probably will not. This past Monday I found out that I had a "10" band. But is that a good thing, or a bad thing???? Am I a good witch or a bad witch? Definitely not in Kansas anymore. Things that make ya go HMMMMM! No Fill Monday

Well, shoot & dangit!!!! Sweet nibblets!!!! I went to the Dr. today, & I thought it was for my first fill. Well, news flash Tom Brokaw!!! It wasn't. I don't understand why I had to go today. They made another appointment for me for next week, August 2nd. This will be 6 weeks post op, so surely I will get a fill then, right??? Well, I had better get over this:mad: and start looking like this:). On the bright side, I have lost 5 pounds in the last 3 weeks!! Yaay me!!:whoo::clap2: Oh well, TTFN

Weigh Day

4 Weeks Post op today!!   Ok, what's the deal????? I only lost 1/2 a pound this week!! NOT A HAPPY FREAKIN CAMPER!!:scared:   Got a letter in the mail last Friday telling me they want to reschedule my Thursday the 19th appt. BUMMER! So, I called them and looks like I'm going in for my first fill on Monday, July 23rd, 2007 YAAY!!!:clap2: I sure need it. :faint: I know that I'm eating more food than I should be, however I have given up the following completely & this alone should cause me to be loosing......shouldn't it??:help: 1. Bread 2. Sweets 3. Carbonated Drinks 4. Caffeine Also drinking all of 64 oz of water!!!!   Oh well, will report back in next Tuesday.......:deadhorse:

3 weeks post op

Good morning, So, today makes 3 weeks post op. Weighed in this morning at 224.5 Lbs. That's only 12.5 lbs since surgery on 6-19-07, but I'll take it!!!!:whoo: That's much better than gaining 12.5 lbs right??? Oh well, 84.5 lbs to go, sheeewww, a long journey ahead!!!!:faint:Looking forward to 7-19-07, my next Dr. appt., hoping to get that first fill.

Good Morning 2ya

Well, it sure is Monday!!!! But that's ok, all is good! Tomorrow will be 3 weeks post op for me, YAAY!!!!:clap2: So I think I will make Tuesday's my "Weigh Day" Hmmmmm, yeah that sounds good. I went out to an actual restaurant on Sat. night, and was somewhat nervous about it, but I done good, it was a Mexican restaurant & I ordered something called Plaza Chicken Salad, translated is lettuce, tomato, red onions & grilled chicken. I didn't eat it all & I had water with it. :spit: However, I sure wanted a Margarita. But anywho, all went well. The rest of the weekend was mainly and time spent with Clairice, my little Chihuahua.   Oh well, til tomorrow:wave: Tgirl   P.S. Last Friday I bought this wonderful book called "Fighting Weight" by Khaliah Ali, which is Mohamed Ali's daughter. It's all about her having lapband surgery 3 years ago. She weighed 325 & now is 150!:clap2: I read the whole book over the weekend & it is "AWESOME"! By all means everyone should check this book out!:whoo:

Happy 5th of July

Hello fellow bandsters!!!! Well, yesterday I tried my first "MEAT" since preop!!! It went down great, probably a little too great. I can really tell that the band is working, it's unbelieveable! I have an office job & before the band, all I wanted to do was snack on junk all day..... But now, it's like, "Oh is it dinner time already?":whoo: How cool is that??? I had a "Boost" High Protein drink at 7 this morning & (of all things) a 1/2 cup of stewed squash mid morning & it's just amazing how satisfied I am. Oh well, I'm hoping the scales will start moving so that I can REALLY be excited.:clap2: Bye 4 now, Tgirl

It's Monday

Well, I'm enjoying the soft foods tremendously, I'm just scared that it may show up on the scales just how much I'm enjoying soft foods.:hungry: (not good)! But so far, the scale hasn't changed up or down. My next Dr. appt. is July 19th. I don't know if I'll get a fill or not (probably not) but I would gladly except it. Oh well, thinking about all the bar-b-que's on the Fourth of July, I plan to stay home & away from it all. I sure do love bar-b-que!!!! 1st Post op Dr. visit

Today was my first dr. visit since being banded 10 days ago. According to his scales, I have lost 9 lbs since surgery day & a total of 13 lbs since my first visit with him. I hope I keep this off after moving on to solid foods. My next visit to see him is in 3 weeks & he told me that I should be on SOLIDS by then. YAAY, not a problem:hungry: I'm ready. Bummed about all the 4th of July foods I'll be missing but maybe by next years 4th of July celebration, I will not be ashamed to go to the beach & be seen in a bathing suit:whoo:. Well, tonight I will be going to my first Lap-Band support group meeting. :car: I hope it helps boost my spirits. TTFN, Tgirl

A Better Day

Hello, today has been my best feeling day yet. I was banded 9 days ago. As of yesterday, I increased the consistancy of my food intake. And this has helped me tremendously. I was just so weak. Not making my soups quite so thin now. Tomorrow is my first dr. visit since banded & I am looking forward to seeing him. I hope he lets me go ahead & start blended foods a little early. Some tuna fish would sure be good about now. Anything would be good about now! :hungry: Anyways, the shoulder pain is still with me, man I sure wish it would move on out before I become a Gas-x Addict, LOL:biggrin1: Have a happy day, Tgirl:D   STATS 237/227.5/140

Black Cloud looming above me

June 23, 2007, I awaken with the same horrible taste in my mouth that I went to bed with. Only now, it's worse, my tongue is swollen & has white junk stuck all over it. It feels like it should be a very cold & rainy day out. And possibly a raven knock knock knocking outside my chamber door.....( I also feel alot like Wednesday Adams of the "Adam's Family" writing this down). :heh: However, it's a beautiful, extremely hot Sunday. Go Figure!!!!! I believe I have what they call "Thrush" I called the Dr. & he called in some kind of medicine for me. My stepmom picks it up & delivers it to me. Upon her immediate departure, I read the instructions of this medicine & quickly put it in my mouth, swish it around & YES, swallow. Seconds later, stepmom calls to inform me that she has spoken with the pharmacy & they say "Do Not Swallow" Just swish!!!! Holy Crap,:omg: too late!!! Well, anywho, the stuff was hideous so I will gladly not swallow anymore of it. So, how's the pain in my shoulder you ask???? Well, let me tell you, it is still there! I walk & walk & so far nothing. Enough bout that. I could not deal with any broth today, I am very bad. So, I made instant mashed potatoes (very soupy) and had a little of that. They would have been ok, if not for this icky taste in my mouth that will not leave me for even a second. What, oh what, have I done to myself????? :faint:So, ok, I think what i shall go & do now, is to find some very pretty skinny girl catalogs & look at them & continue believing that I too shall be ordering from these catalogs someday. And that hopefully will cheer me up. ok, well, ttfn;)

6 days post of

So, ok, today is my first day back on the job:phanvan. But it is only a half a day, so thats good. Well, this morning I strained a can of Chicken Noodleo's & a few of the noodleo's accidentally fell into the juice. WHOOPS!!!! So, I chewed & chewed & chewed & I hope I didn't mess anything up. But they were wonderful. Hey, if I was great at starving myself, then I wouldn't have had to have this surgey in the first place. :faint:I will not let this happen again!!!! TTFN, Tgirl
