LAP BAND REPLACEMENT

January 3, 2011 by RILEY6309

HAD LAP BAND SURGERY 5 YEARS AGO. EVERTHING WENT GREAT UNTILL ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. FOUND THAT I COULD EAT ALL I WANTED AND GAINED ALL MY WEIGHT BACK. THE DOCTOR FELT IT WAS MY PORT AND REPLACED IT IN JUNE OF 2010. STILL HAD WEIGHT GAIN. THE DOCTOR DID A DYE TEST AND FOUND IT WAS MY BAND LEAKING. I'M DUE FOR BAND REPLAACEMENT ON 1/11/2011. HAS ANYONE HAD THERE BAND REPLACED?

No , I haven't had a replacement . I just wanted to say I admire your stick-to -it -ness. You have had a very rough road with your bands, I will be praying for good outcome this time. Blessings....Dolly
Wow, Just had mine put in me last Friday and hoped it would last longer than 5 years. Good luck to you and get that weight back off................you will feel better. I lost 2 pounds and I feel great about that.........LOL

bill, hang in there, I have had my port replaced because it flipped, then about a year later I got a heital hernia, and the doctor had to go in and adjust my band so I have had a lot of issues but I must say i am happy about my weight loss, I have lost 105lbs, still need to loose 40.. But i am at a stand still now..
bill, how did you know your band wasn't acting properly? i can eat anything i want. and this is not a good thing.
the band has not been effective for me. aside from the first few months!
