Incision Care

Just curious to see what instructions doctors are giving out regarding incisions, since we all know every doc is different.

Mine said not to put anything on them and just wash with antibacterial soap and water.

I was also told not to put any cream or ointment on it. I had to keep it covered for 2 days (it was ok to change th ebandage). I was also allowed to shower right away.

My surgeon covered my incisions with OpSite transparent dressings. I was able to shower the next day. The dressings stayed in place for over a week with no irritation and didn't peel off accidentally. I thought they were great.

Same instructions here. I had a few incisions that opened on me and even then it same instructions, but I could cover with gauze if I wanted to, and then once the scabs were gone, I could take whatever approach I wanted to reducing their visability.
