I just received my 3rd fill 6 days ago and I've been having a lot of gas and gas pain. Has anyone else experienced this??? I'm basically still on liquids and mushy foods.

Hi sally, My progress has been slow also. I too have been able to eat whatever I wanted. I just got my third fill Thursday and I'm feeling a lot more restriction. Can't even drink a glass of wine. LOL Don't give up. Go on your trip and have a good time, start over when you get back.

Hi everyone, I was banded on 8/13/09. I had very little gas pain after surgery. However, I woke up this morning and the gas was horrible. It hurts so bad sometimes it takes my breath away. I’m taking gas x and walking a ton. Any more advise?

Just curious to see what instructions doctors are giving out regarding incisions, since we all know every doc is different. Mine said not to put anything on them and just wash with antibacterial soap and water.

I was the same way. Try to keep yourself busy today and try not think about it. The next thing you know you'll be out of surgery walking around. I still think I'm dreaming sometimes because it went so fast. Keep us posted on your progress. Good Luck!

My doc had me on two days clear liquids pre op. I had surgery Aug 13th and I did fine. However I am on 7 days post op of liquids only and don't move to softfoods for another week. Good Luck!

I was banded on the 13th too. My doc is letting me have slimfast shakes along with my clear diet. I'm only taking in 380 calories a day. Is that normal?

Restless Monkey is right. I slept flat on my back last night with no problems. Support pillows are the key to sitting comfortably in chairs and the bed. For me it has been best to get up every hour and move, move, move. Good Luck with your surgery.

Bostonlady, I had surgery yesterday and I'm doing well. Walking is very important after surgery, it helps with the gas pain. My doc also put a patch behind my ear before surgery for nausea. It worked very very well. Don't worry about the surgery you'll do great. I've only lost a pound so far but I know it was the best decision I ever made!

I had surgey today mine went well also. I'm finding the G2 gatoraid is easy for me to drink. Good Luck!

Hi Yall, I’m not starving anymore!!! YEA! I went in for surgery this morning at 6:00AM. My doctor is Doctor Spiegal and he was awesome. I was home on my couch by 11:00AM. I had very little gas pain. However, I am really sore at incisions but that’s normal and he gave me liquid pain meds for that. They had me up and walking right after surgery and I think that’s why I’m not as sore. Best part, I’m not hungry anymore. Good Luck everyone.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the support. I’m doing two days clear liquid so shakes aren’t an option, but I sure wish they were. LOL Failureisntandoption is right. Today I stayed very busy, kept some typt of liquid in my hands at all times and changed my focus. Coffee helped a bunch and so did the naked photos I took of myself last night. ( So I can remember how big I really was.) Have to check in for surgery in the morning at 6:00AM. I’ll keep everyone posted to let you know how it goes.

I'm on 1st day of two day clear liquids pre op, yes it sucks. Decaf coffee is helping me get through it and the though of a new me.

My surgery date is Thursday, August 13. I’m pre-op two days of clear liquids only and I’m starving. Anyone have any advice on how to get through this???

My date is the 14th. No pre-op diet for me?? Has anyone else not had to follow a pre op diet with the exception of 24 hours before surgery???

I'm going in tomorrow too. However, I've already had all my blood work done. If you're having blood work, I would fast. If not, you're probably ok. Good Luck!
