12 Pounds in 1 Week!

Hey Guys,

I went for my first post opp and I was down 12 pounds in one week! This was a great incentive and start to this journey. After seeing that scale read out I wasn't so jaded about some of the un-pleasantness that goes along with your first week being banded. Thanks to everyone who helped me through that rough first week. I am now 10 days post opp and every day gets eaiser. I still feel restriction but not as much as last week. One question, do people feel like they can eat normally before a fill? Is that an indication to get one done?

CONGRATS!!!

That first week does have some unpleasantness--but it really does get better all the time.

I found that a couple of weeks prior to my first fill I could eat anything. I managed to lose weight up until my first fill, but it truly was through will power. As my fill date for my fill approached, my will power took a nose dive.

Will power bottomed out, and I got a fill......

I've continued to lose at a pretty steady rate of 2 pounds a week.

Keep up the good work!

The best is yet to come!

I still had a hard time with certain foods up to my first fill, almost 3 months out. My doctor did my fill after I stopped loosing weight. I stayed still 4 about 4 weeks.

Not banded yet either, but looking forward to the same kind of results. Give yourself a big pat on the back. Please tell me about the surgery. What can you eat? What do they mean they "can feel the port", does it hurt? What do people mean it is "tight" in the morning. Does it hurt? Any info would be appreciated from anyone who has had this banding done.
