I know the protein drinks have helped me - yesterday I didn't have much of anything b/c I was hurting pretty bad and by 8:00 last night I was very sick. Nauteous and dizzy and nearly threw up so I drank a protein drink and I felt better - it didn't completely go away but I was able to open my eyes withouth feeling like I was going to puke everywhere. Good Luck

how did you get rid of it? Mine is almost in the same spot, I think I'll feel better when it's gone

And thanks (:

walk walk walk and walk some more my back is still sore but I think its's getting better too. I just drank some chicken broth and feel like I want to throw up I hope these feelings go away really soon. I hope walking helps you too.

I was nauseous for a couple of days afterwards until the Dr's suggested I try soup. That worked a treat. It tasted like food, it was satisfying and I think the fact that it is warm somehow helps as well.

agh eating chicken broth makes you sick? Oh no! Ugh I walked a lot today and there is jus a little bit of gas stuck and idk how get rid of it besides walking and drinking water, this is frustrating

My post op instructions were to water down the protein shakes. It is important to get your protein in. Erin, you might want to try the Unjury chicken broth protein powder. I think it tastes quite good, and I find the warm broth soothing.

thanks I never heard of that stuff tho did it upset your stomach at all?

My nutritionist had recommended Herb Ox, but it tasted like dishwater to me, and only has 1g Protein. I'm glad I found the uUnjury. You can order it online (powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury.com. There is usually a link to it on the forum pages.

Everyone is different in their reactions to surgery. Malifosa mentioned that chicken broth made her nortous. But I found it very comforting. I use the unjury chicken broth a lot in the mushie stage, adding it to Soups, mashed potatoes, and other soft dishes to have extra protein.

Good luck.

That's good. Hang in there. The first week is the hardest, but for most people it gets easier every day.

I just need to burp or something to get the rest of the gas out hmm I see my surgeron on Monday for the follow up

Just offering advise my surgeon gave me... in no way do I recommend doing anything without your surgeon's okay.

I was told to use gas-x strips. They dissolve on your tongue like listerine strips. I used cinnamon and they were not bad. I am a week out and most of the gas is gone. Occassionally I still think "man I need to toot!" All else is goning well. I am on mushies and they will so much make you think you are eating that you will be in heaven.

Take care. Hope this helps.
