Waiting on UHC approval

Just switched to UHC in early July. The insurance folks at Barix in Groveport submitted my information to UHC for approval. She said it usually takes 1-2 weeks before I hear something. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!! They didn't really tell her what the requirements were, which is kind of the way they were with me on the phone. They just said medically necessary..which I think is BMI > 35. Praying it all comes back for approval with no strings!!!!

I have UHC also, and I am just getting the final information put together at the surgeon's office that they will send in. I hope it is that quick! She told me 2-12 weeks, the doc told me about a month to do everything before surgery. I will keep my fingers crossed for you, do it for me too haha. I called the insurance also and that was basically what they told me too. Just medical necessity and I feel as though I have that...all docs have backed me up on this too so. We can hope hope hope for each other!

I have UHC and I had my first consult with my surgeon near the end of April. I was notifed of my approval near the end of June and underwent my surgery on 7/13. When you're waiting it seems like forever, but once you get the call and have the surgery, it seems like it went so fast!

Good Luck to you both
