First time on site

I am currently in the process of getting the referral from my doctor. My husband and I have talked about this and despite the huge debt it will incurr he is being supportive. I am 43 this year and want to leave behind the life long dieting train. The whole thing looks so very frightening though desperation is pushing me on.

When it gets overwhelming, come in here from some hugs and support!

The first steps are always the hardest... the fear of the surgery, the decisions on who to tell and the worry about how they will react, the panic over how you will cope with the pre-op diet right through to what life will be like when you just can't stomach various foods again.

We all go through these anxieties and concerns, but from what I've seen from these forums most people have come out smiling on the other side.

Be brave, we are here to support you!

Thanks Toptier, that was very kind. I got the referral from my doctor today and now it's on to the next stage.

Outstanding!

It sounds like we are in the same spot. The waiting for me is the hardest part. I just want to go in, have it done and be on my way to a healthier me. The people on these forums are amazing. Definitely, come back for support and the answers to your questions.

Good luck to you.

Stacy
