I got my first fill today!

I was one of the lucky ones who had restriction from day one. Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed I've been able to eat more and more and now I'm almost back to my old habits. I would have gone in sooner, but I was really sick with bronchitis and then TOM appeared. I went in today and I've still lost weight and they were very pleased with my progress. I told them about my lost restriction and she filled me with 1.5 ccs. She numbed the site first with lidocaine and then put the needle in. She tried to draw out fluid to see if there was any residual from before surgery when they tested it. There wasn't anything in it. I had to drink a little water as she filled it and it went down fine. I'm on mushies until tomorrow, but so far, so good! I guess I didn't really have to feel as nervous as I was. :smile2: Now, let the weight come off! LOL

well thats good to hear..im glad that even though u started to get the cravings...that somehow u were still able to loose! thats good girl...regardless if u have the cravings and u did decide to have a lil of the bad stuff u still shouldnt be able to consume it like u used to back in the day with the band...so good job on whatever ur doing!

Hey Twiggy I am right there with you. Also had pretty good retriction but after an upper GI to rule out a slip decided to go for it and have a 1.5cc fill. I think in the last few weeks it was 50% the band and the rest me and I felt my appetite getting stronger. Good luck!

Hi i was lucky too i had restriction for up to 2 weeks after every fill. I personally must be near my sweet spot now, i think the next fill will be the one. I feel full longer than i have done for years but just treat each one as a stepping stone to a new life. I stopped losing for 4 weeks and was getting disheartened but im back on track to a kilo (2.2lbs)a week and feeling great. Just never lose hope even if you can eat and keep remembering why you had the band in the first place. I wish you good luck :smile2:

Alfie

Count me in the lucky camp too:thumbup:. I was banded 2/18/09 and have felt restricted enough to have cut may portion size way back from pre-band days, enough so that I have lost 30+ lbs. I go in next week for my first fill which I'm hoping will cut my portion size by yet another 1/3. I have been eating 3 meals a day of 400-500 calories per meal. I rarely feel hungry between meals. I have been doing great with not drinking during or after meals. I do drink a big glass of water just before breakfast, if I miss out on that one I have a hard time drinking my full amount during the day.

Yesterday I had my first real stuck/PB episode on some eggs and chicken that I had for breakfast. It wasn’t quite as bad as some of the horror stories I read on here, but it was a wakeup call to slow down while eating and to chew chew chew.
