I was banded on 2/25 and had the referred pain from gas off and on for about a week. It sure does hurt. It does go away though, in time. I empathize. Carlene G.

oh my gas was HORRIBLE! it was awfully painful, i am 5 days post op and the horrible pain was days 2&3 after surgery, after i PUKED co2 gas up i felt much better, but i still have bad shoulder pain and some gas, but it's tolerable.

The best way to get rid of the gas is movement. I know you probably don't feel like walking but if you do you will feel so much better so much faster. I slowly walked starting the day of surgery & it helped. Even if you can only walk slow, I promise it will help. Good luck

I was also banded on Friday the 13th. I'm a little sore but have very bad gas pains in my stomach. I have been walking. Good luck.

30 pounds lost so far since pre op two weeks on liquid diet and now working on 10 day post op liquid diet.

I was banded Feb 5, and had a TON of gas also! Hated it, but my surgeon suggested GasX, and of course walking. I would recommend the gas X that you can get which melts in your mouth...that way, nothing can get stuck!

  • 2 weeks later...

just a quick note, i am 2 weeks out and the shoulder pain has stopped! i thought it would never end, but it did stop so i am all better now! i hope yours stops also!
