  1. My Dr. told me to eat what was comfortable, AFTER 4 days of cold-liquid diet. Being only 6 weeks post-op, I was eating "real food" probably 14 days after surgery. I think it was a burrito. At 3 weeks, I tried McDonalds...and HATED IT! I absolutely HATED eating french fries, and still can't. I think it is because I eat everything until it is mooshy...and that changes the taste of food completely! Other than that, no problems.
  2. Hi there! I was banded February 5, 2009. To be honest, I thought it was going to be easier, but I am glad that I have to make the "tough" decisions about eating right. After all, this is a lifestyle change...right?
  3. I was banded Feb 5, and had a TON of gas also! Hated it, but my surgeon suggested GasX, and of course walking. I would recommend the gas X that you can get which melts in your mouth...that way, nothing can get stuck!
  4. Hello everyone. I thought I was going to go at this alone, but I also know that if you have a support group, you perform better for your weight loss. A little about me: -I was banded by Dr. Kirschenbaum in Denver, CO...excellent surgeon and I even got a video (after I asked) -self pay at $9500 -Thought I was literally dying (ok, not literally) from post-op gas (painful stuff!) -Still trying to figure out what if feels like to feel full Anyone else hating the taste of food you used to like?
